Aftermarket Audio System

Taking a simple survey that may not apply to all. Have you replaced your audio/speakers since you have purchased you vehicle? If so, then what and why did you replace it with and are you pleased?

I have done nothing to the audio system. I think it sounds fine.

Yep. Went with a simple aftermarket system. Memphis audio 2 ways in the doors and the rear deck with a small 10" enclosed sub with amp. Also added sound deadening in the doors and on the rear deck.

I wanted something with better mids/highs and more bass and that's essentially what I got (maybe a little too much bass but it's set up so I can control the sub output using the factory HU).

Current
- 2014 Infiniti Q60 AWD - GMG (my DD)
- 2013 Dodge Dart Limited - Redline Red (wife's DD)
- 2010 Nissan GT-R Premium - GMG (weekends)

What size fits in the rear deck - 6.5 or 6x9?

6.5" fits although I think you can get 6.75" in there with the proper bracket. Scosche makes a bracket for honda that you can use although in my case, we just cut out the old speaker coils and reused the Honda bracket after some modifications.

Added an audio control lc7i to feed a boston acoustics 4 channel amp. Currently only using channel 3&4 bridged to power a sony 12" sub in a ported box. Made and carpeted a custom amp rack. Polk components to come for the front and swap to an Alpine mono amp for the sub. (Spring time mod). Also added sound deadening to all 4 doors and trunk. Love the results so far. Also disabled ANC and set DSP to flat. The premium system was not premium enough. Although the sub is a bit boomy due to the ported box I like it. Only problem is it takes up a lot of space.

2014 Accord EXL V6 hematite.
Mods: LED's inside and 6000K HID's. Stereo system upgrade. Polk DXI6501 components, Sony sub, Boston Acoustics amp with LC7I
To do: Tints and yellow fog light bulbs

We could fit 6.75 in the front also, correct? With the correct bracket?

Audio Upgrades

I switched out the front and rear speakers for kicker components and I also have a 15 inch Rockford Fosgate T1 subwoofer powered by a 2500 watt boss amp. I was hesitant to replace the head unit; but I ended up doing that and WOW, what a difference. The quality and clarity on that head unit is soooooo much better than the stock head unit. I also installed Sirius XM. Trust me, if you want quality crisp sound, replace the head unit.

Believe me, a lot of us wish we could upgrade our head units.
