I've been trying to upload a custom wallpaper to the screen and I keep getting a message that says the usb device has been disconnected. Any ideas? There are JPEG images on the thumb drive.

Not sure about the USB been disconnected message, but my experience was that JPEG didn't work, only BMP file for whatever reason.

jpeg worked for me but the file size can't be larger than a certain size. The car has a very small allocation for image sizes and you can only upload 3 images. Trial and error attempts have yielded images < 1MB work fine.

There's a wallpaper thread that has all the details. Here's a quote from member ICE on the specifics:

- You can import up to three images, one at a time, from a USB flash drive.
- When importing wallpaper files, the image must be in the USB flash drive’s root directory. Images in a folder cannot be imported.
- The file format of the image that can be imported is BMP (.bmp) or JPEG (.jpg).
- The individual file size limit is 2 MB.
- The maximum image size is 1,680 x 936 pixels. If the image size is less than 420 x 234 pixels, the image will be displayed in the middle of the screen with the extra area appearing in black.
- Up to 64 characters can be displayed in the file name.
- If the USB flash drive does not have any pictures, the “No files detected” message appears.

The limit of images may be based on your trim level. I was actually able to upload 20 images onto my V6 Touring.

I also resized my images to fill the whole screen. This takes some extra doing, but I couldn't stand seeing the black letter-box around the images.

Sorry for the old post bump but I was curious since I'm picking up my 2016 Sport on Weds. what size "-- X --" pic did you have to resize to? The black letter-box will drive me nuts as well.

Thank

I resized the images to 1680 x 936 at 300 bpi.

See the post from "TN9thSi" just above mine. He (she) gives more detail.

lmao!!!

On my 2016 Touring, the screen size seems to be 960x480. Larger image sizes give no benefit, and if the aspect ratio is different you'll get black bars.
The manual specifically states that 1680 x 936 pixels is the maximum size image. The specs are the same for the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Accords.

This is the only size that I have found to fully fill the screen with no black letter-box.

From the manual(s):
"The maximum image size is 1,680 x 936 pixels. If
the image size is less than 420 Ă— 234 pixels, the
image is displayed in the middle of the screen with
the extra area appearing in black."

The manual in fact gives two different numbers for the maximum size (the one you gave above, plus one of 4096x4096 in "Wallpaper Setup", p. 222), and both of these numbers have nothing to do with the actual screen size. The screen size is 960x480; larger images will be scaled to fit. There's no bars if the aspect ratio is 2x1. Thus 1440x720 will work fine, too, with the possibility of some scaling artifacts, however.

Never had a problem uploading wallpaper to mine... Try reformatting you USB flash drive...

Upload Picture for wallpaper 2018 Honda Accord Touring Edition

After multiple unsuccessful attempts over 3 hours with error message that no files were available using standard pictures from my iphone with no resizing, I found the follow steps work perfect.

Resize pictures using www picresize com - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for to the specific pixel aspect ratio in your honda accord pdf manual (available on honda site) for example to 1920 x 936 for 2018 Honda Accord and save to a size that falls below 2mb (I used best setting which resulted in 1mb size).

Save to USB. Upload into the display using the clock settings options.

Before I resized to this no files would show and then when I made smaller with other default settings, I got the black bars on both size.

Using www picresize com Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for worked perfect with upload working and filling the complete screen.

On another note, the 2018 Honda Accord is Assume !! :)

I slightly changed url as this is my first post it does not allow links. Just add the . 's after www and before com and it will work fine.
