Wanted to show everyone what I specifically did to circumvent the two things our cars didn't come with. I tried to make everything as clean as possible.

The amount of work that was necessary to hide that Aux wire was insane. Let me know if you want to see pics of our dash completely opened up.

Added bonus is you'll be able to see my hardwired Escort Passport on its Blendmount as well.

Very cool! I'm planning to do similar - put my Sirus Starmate up where your GPS unit is, and run the aux wire the same way. So I would definitely like to see pics/info on how you ran the aux wire that way.

Did you look into taking the rubber aux cover completely off? I was thinking it'd look better that way, but not sure if it'd be possible to get it off yet still be able to reattach it down the road.

I removed the radio and climate control, and filed a hole just big enough for the aux cable at the bottom of the radio where it meets the climate control.

I did look into taking that rubber piece off, but couldn't find a way to remove it without breaking it.

Yeah, I tapped power from the fuse box with an Add-A-Circuit. The Escort radar detector has it's own hardwire kit, but the GPS and SiriusXM both are connected via a 12v outlets installed behind the dash. I actually tapped the same unused fuse that the Add-A-Circuit was plugged into (I'll have to check which one, I believe it's the third from the bottom right side, almost certain there was a 20 amp fuse there.) I have a 10 amp fuse in there for them and between all three I may be pulling 3-4 amps at the most.

Below is what I used. I bought a simple 12v splitter from Autozone when I added the SiriusXM tuner.
