The stock speakers and head unit are good. Adding wont help. Its the Honda amp that sucks. It changes your highs and lows and sends a wompy signal. Even disconnecting the ANC didnt do all that much for me. But I did have an amp installed with the stock speakers and it sounds great. I didnt do it I had a shop do it. They pulled the old amp and replaced it. Connected to the stock speakers its a ton better. I have a 2017 Touring and all my voice activation works no problems. So just replace the stock amp..

2017 TOURING Modern steel
Borla axle back.
K-Tuner
LED swap license plate light /reverse light.
Progress 22mm rear sway bar.
Ceramic tint.

Soon to be loosing the 19s and going with 18" HPD wheels for the Civic..
Done just got the wheels on today 4/10/17

Don't believe you can do that with the Sport or LX?

If you want to add in the tweeters, you just need to buy the parts and then tap the fronts. And get crossovers.

Hello, i have a 2016 Accord sport and trying to add tweeters.First, how do I tap into the front speakers? Second I bought the premium tweeters that come stock in the ex-l model but they don't seem to have a crossover?, Third do I need a crossover? Thank you

The winning combination seems to be adding tweeters and a small, powered sub. I've heard a Sport that did this and it sounded really good for a couple hundred dollar investment. Owner bought Polk Audio tweeters (came with a crossover), and a compact, powered sub that fits underneath the passenger seat.

Can't do that with a Sport. Amp is built into the head unit.

I believe the tweeters from the EX have built in crossover and the tweeters from the Touring do not.

That's correct, the EX comes with pioneer that have built in crossover but the premium Foster don't come with crossover. Now I'm trying to figure out what type I need in order for the Foster tweeters work properly after I wire them to the front speakers. Any ideas??

Anything that you can in the 3-4kHz range should work. Depending on the tweeter and the type of music you listen to will determine if you need a 12 db/oct vs 18 or 24.

Are you going to use the crossover in an aftermarket amp or a passive one in line with the speaker?

If you are replacing the factory head unit, cant you just get replacement speakers in the front that come with tweeters and a built in crossover and just get the tweeter assembly from the EX-L?
