How do you take off wheel caps ???

Iam trying to touch up my rims but I cant get the center wheel caps off...they are 16inch stock honda rims off a accord 03 4cyl !
dont they just come off ? cant seem to get them off ? I dont wanna scratch them? do they unscrew ?
it says in manual not to
" Do not attemp to forcibly pry the plewheel cover off with a screwdriver or other tool. The wheel cover cannot be removed without first removing the wheel nuts."

Never says how to take the wheel cover off !

does it unscrew ? please help this is so newbie question but Ive never had rims like this before that it doesnt just come off.

You have the answer before you.... You read it and typed it. If this is correct for your car....

Can you save a gal. here and there then blow a half gallon playing with the tach? It can be done!

Jack up the car, remove the lugs from one wheel, watch what happens.

Sounds like the center wheel caps from the first sentence. If that's the case, then you need to remove the wheel. And yes, that requires removing the lug/wheel nuts first.

Once the wheel is off, you can pop it out by pushing it from behind.
