What is Honda's recommended transmission service intervals for 2006-2007?
Honda says do the first change at 90,000, then every 30k or so thereafter. the 06 and 07 will have the Maintenance minder, so these intervals are not exact, as they were in the 03-05. The MM will calculate when it's time based on usage and when the next oil change is due (it lumps everything together so you only hit service intervals every 7k or so, in my experience).
That said, many folks, myself included, started earlier than the first time the MM popped up. It's just cheap insurance, since a bum transmission is basically one of the most expensive problems you can have with a Honda, or any car. I would say if the previous owner(s) followed the factory intervals, you're not in bad shape, but that's my opinion. If they skipped the drain and refills entirely, I would be concerned, especially since they're not difficult - it would beg the question in my mind of what else did they not maintain.
In my humble opinion, 06-07 is the best accord (and hence best sedan) ever made. To me, the most important attribute of a car is reliability, so that's what I base this on. I've heard rumors that Honda started implementing more cost control measures after the 7th generation. As an engineer at a large company, I can assure you that this NEVER improves quality.
