ClutchHutch's Accord Coupe Progress Thread

Just picked up my new baby a few weeks ago off Craigslist. A 2010 Taffeta Accord Coupe V6 6-Speed! I came from a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S so this is much bigger and POWERFUL. I plan on posting my progress through here as I get stuff done! So far I've just put in my Skunk2 Weighted Shift knob.

This was my old baby.

Nice car! Seems to be really clean and in better condition than mine.

I am one of those lazy Auto shift people... But then again, this is my first car, so I just want it to be simple. Besides, I can just imagine driving around uni with a stick... Not fun.

Any mods you want to add on there?

My first car!

Mods and such things:

AFE Pro Dry S drop-in filter
VCMuzzler II

i-VTEC & 3.5 stickers
High and Low beams - Philips CrystalVision Ultra
Front turn signals - HV 6000K white/amber switchback
Rear lights - Philips Vision LEDs
Interior LEDs
Crosstour shift knob
OEM footwell lights
and more!

1999 Toyota Corolla CE 5MT

And a manual DD I will reveal later... ;)

Yes. I have picked up a few things off Craigslist but I think I'm going to wait a few months until after the snow is done.

So far I've picked up 19" HFP 10 spoke Rims, the HFP suspension kit, powerstop brakes and drilled and slotted rotors, and I've also gotten all the parts to do a retrofit with quad projectors.

I just installed the Takeda intake and the car sounds mean! And I also put in some led lights under the dash.

Loads of stuff you are doing there, I see.

I have heard CAIs can make good sounds, but performance wise, they won't do much without a tune. Make sure when you add in all the mods you want, get a tune. It will make all the difference.

I have the boring OEM blue floor lights. I am content with them. They are designed for the car by Honda, so it's pretty much just following the instructions for me. I know some people go with the wires in the kit and their own LED's rather than the ones included in the kit, which works out well.

For a tune is it best to buy a k-pro or go to a performance shop? I'm just curious. I've always heard about people doing them.

To add to the tuning advice, I'd get a dyno of before and after installing mods, then tuning it.

I am no expert, but I believe there are pre-tuned ones available.

Still would be better to visit a shop, though. Every car is unique, especially with the endless combination of mods.

The past few days I've been working on my retrofit. I'm not done yet but I've been working on it as much as I can. Should be all together tomorrow and I will upload some finished photos.

Finally finished my retrofit last night and I LOVE IT. It was a little difficult and time consuming but it was well worth it. Now I'm onto putting my new rims and a few other upgrades I've purchased.

Picked up a Yakima Roof rack on Craigslist about a week ago and got that on this weekend. Only thing it's missing now is a kayak.

I really like the look of the two tone interior with the white.

Finally got around to putting on my new PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors and new brake pads. Next few weeks hopefully I can get the new suspension on!
