Date of manufacture

I bought a 2009 Honda Accord EXL in Nov. 2009.
When my friend who also drives an accord was checking my car, he was surprised that the date of manufacture was 09/08. This means the Car was with the dealer for 14 months. The mileage at the time of delivery was 21 Km. Is this normal??, should it be a concern?? Should I take up this issue with the dealership/Honda?

Was it assembled in Ohio or Japan? That might have something to do with it.

Make sure you get the oil changed, if you haven't already.

Yeah, that's completely normal. Knowing that information earlier could potentially lead to lower price tag.

Was his car a Navi V-6. They sold the least amount of these, and it has the highest chance of being on the lot the longest.
What color does he have?

Weird, that is a very popular combo. Might even be the most popular EX. I know silver is the top seller. Where was the car purchased, Canada?

The worst thing usually about a car that hangs around a dealer lot for so long it is started and stopped so often without ever being driven. Moisture collects in the exhaust which can lead to an early demise as well as brakes tending to rust up over a period of time and the paint being exposed to the elements with no wax applied...or...was it a port or in transit damaged car which sat in a body shop forever on a low priority list. Other than that let's see........

Always try to buy fresh production cars IMHO. A good lesson your friend pointed out.

Not sure, I think all the cars are stored outside.
There are lots of dealerships owned by same group.

That'd be a concern of mine as well, in addition to the mechanical concerns. Silver hides flaws very well, which may make such a car easier to pass off from the dealer's perspective.
