I got fuel cut set at 20 and personally it's still too slow for my liking.

The big deal to me is when you are trying to go through the gears at WOT the faster the revs drop the easier it will be on the clutch as it is not having to deal with the engine (just rotational mass).

I want a direct relationship between the pedal and the throttle body.

Now I will admit I am super impressed with things as they are. The rpms no longer climb 2-300 rev when shifting fast before engaging into the next gear. (Man that pissed me off beyond belief) and the throttle response is 90% where I imagined perfection to be.

I wish they made the car this way omg.

For those who have used, are using or are thinking about using Sprintbooster or any other brand that does the same thing.

For the record:
I bought sprint booster many many months back because I was looking for the car to have better throttle response. It took me less than a day to realize it's BS. Makes the pedal extremely sensitive and you lose your ability to modulate the throttle and everything becomes a nuisance to drive smoothly. It also does nothing for throttle hang or shifting, all it does is make the tb open faster with respect to the amount of pedal you are inputting. I returned the sprint booster and thought I'd never have the car drive like I wished it did. Eventually (after I had bought everything I could for my baby) I decided to go with Ktuner. I even called Ktuner and he walked me through the set up process because I was having some complications as I am horrible with computers lol. What a great guy... honestly. And another thing I love is that with sprint booster you have this cord with a button and that really makes the car look kinda Ricer IMHO. The more stock I can keep everything the happier I am. I may have a bunch of mods but I try and keep things looking as oem as possible. Because then when people find out what the car can do, they are truely surprised that they never even saw it coming.

There were a couple people who even said F sprintbooster and save a bit more and get Ktuner. But I didn't listen back then. Well now I have to say, holy mozes they were more than right. I had no idea what I was missing. And I am the most computer illiterate person on this forum probably, but with determination, researching our forum, watching some videos online and having a decent computer (which I bought for 450$ brand new 11.6" Lenovo 2.1ghz) I was able to do it.

My only problem I have now is there are so many parameters that can be adjusted I want to know what they all do and would like to tinker with a lot of stuff now lol

You won't like less than 20 - at least I didn't. Makes the car extremely 'jerky' when inching along in traffic in a low gear etc. The clutch won't benefit or be harmed either way. All the clutch does is engage / disengage the drive line. Interestingly enough, for the best performance in say a 1/4 drag strip run - you actually want LESS RPM drop when shifting gears. That's the reason speed shifting came about. The faster you can disengage / rengage and hit the next higher gear, the less RPM drop and the engine stays in it's power band longer as well.

FYI I'm getting ready to break down and do the J37 IM / TB swap as well.

Get the manifold and tb man. I personally feel it gave the car a lot of mid range power. And definitely power overall. I'm really happy with it.

I ordered it all from heeltoeauto.com. They even sent me a gift mug with a little note wishing me all the best with the install. Really impressed by them. Great customer support also when I called asking them questions I had about the manifold swap.

Well I changed the throttle compensation to 0% and fuel cut to 20. It is something you gotta get used to because I have been driving for a year now with that rev hang and got used to the rev hang. Guess I will try to get used to this change but I probably will end up leaving it like that because now it feels like it's a cable driven throttle body.

I still have not changed my fuel cut from 20 which is what I set it at to begin with.

It's comfortable to drive, didn't take much getting used to. Tomorrow I'm going to change it to 12 I think. I want it just a bit more snappy.

I'm just in love with this car the way it drives now. Seriously what a joY

J37 Throttle Body and gasket arrive today. Intake tomorrow. I will start a thread and take pics if I have time. Going early tomorrow with a friend to test drive a '13 6-6 Coupe - he's looking for one after riding in mine LOL

Lol now it's a mods race between u and ur friend. Well, and a divers race.

Don't tell him to get good tires lol, let that be your advantage.

I have Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2 tires and they suck for traction, and they kinda hop when they burn out of the line trying to get into first sometimes. Really unimpressed with the straight line grip from a dig, and these cars need all the grip they can get being fwd.

I was at my tire shop the other day and a guy who works there has a 400whp acura el and he said he's tried everything. And Bridgestone potenza ( I forgot which model) is the grippiest tire he's ever tried and he swears by them. That's my next tire.

I was talking about the Michelin super sport and he said they don't compare for straight line grip. Just don't expect your tires to last much more than a season hahahaha

Fuel cut now at 0 and I'm loving it.

I just wish there was a way to get the rpms to go up faster. I think there is a way to make that happen with Ktuner. I'll keep researchingq

What do you mean by "...to get the RPMS to go up faster..."?

Normally that's controlled by your right foot

Yea when u floor the car in neutral the rpms are slow to rise. I don't like how slow it is.

I had a v6 Ford probe before and that thing was like a race car. The rpms would rise and fall like an f1 car.

Mind you I had a fidanza aluminum flywheel.

When my clutch starts to go on this car I'm definitely getting the lightweight aluminum flywheel. That will definitely help the revs go up and down faster.

Why would you want the revs to go up faster? Easier to revmatch when downshifting, and it just makes controlling the gas pedal feel more engaged with the car. Maybe I cannot explain it properly. But once you have drive a car where the rpms go exactly where you want them to as fast as possible. You are addicted to the response, the commands you can give the car.

IMHO

Hey 08 V6/6, I have the Excelerate clutch setup on my car with the lightweight flywheel. I can confirm with you it will rev up and down faster than a stock clutch and flywheel setup but it doesn't rev up and down like an f1 car like your old Ford. Even then I still recommend going with a lightweight flywheel because all the gears rev up so much faster making it seem like the car lost 300 lbs and I ain't even exagerrating it.

Yea I remember in 1st and 2nd gear when u hit the gas the car would just want to leave itself behind lol.

My only concern is. 1st gear is unuseable already now with my car with all my mods, u hit the gas the tires pretty much burn out with eagle f1 asymmetric 2 tires. Adding the flywheel, might just make the car slower to be honest. Knowing me though I'll probably get it because I got nothing left to buy for my baby. I was also thinking of getting the LSD in the transmission too. Totally overhaul the entire transmission system . Hehehehhe

Did you get the xlr8 daily driver setup or the racing set up ?

I personally love xlr8 and love their products.

For my tires I use Federal 595 RS-RR R compound tires and these things grip like a mofo. I have no traction issues at all with these tires, only downfall is they are noisy as heck but I don't hear them over the stereo so it I don't notice it until I turn down the volumn. Road noise is a sacrifice I am willing to take for extreme grip. BTW I grip 1st gear with these tires and I have the same mods as you except for that I have PCD's and the XLR8 clutch setup.

I have the XLR8 street strip setup in my car, the kevlar disc one. Love it, grabs smooth as stock and takes a hell of a beating. I would recommend this clutch to anyone who wants to upgrade, just gotta make sure you properly break it in.
