PCDs will give a bit more horsepower and torque over the HFPCs, however it will come at a cost. The increase is fairly minimal, maybe 2 or 3 additional horsepower, however you will certainly have an exhaust smell in your car. On top of that if the state you live in does visual inspections, your car will most certainly fail as you have no cats on it, even if it passes the sniffer test.

I currently run the HFPCs and I have no complaints from them. The installation wasn't too bad but it was time consuming. Front pre-cat took about 1-2 hours while the rear one took around 2-3 hours.

@obitelb3 As long as they are installed properly, no they won't damage your engine. Your intake will not produce any kind of smell, it is the PCDs that would produce an exhaust smell caused from the removal of the cats. HFPCs do not have any kind of exhaust smell and only have 2-3 horsepower lower than the PCDs.

The PCDs are louder naturally as they completely remove the cats and replace it with straight-pipe. This causes there to be a smell in the car that would typically be removed by the cats. If you can put up with that, and live in a state that does not do visual inspections on cars then you should go that route.

Hey man do you still have the stock exhaust in your car? Did the RV6 hfcp, j pipe and mid pipe changed the tone at all? Curious because I'm planning on doing those 3 and wondering if it will change the tone of the stock exhaust

@knxwledge Yes it did, pretty significantly I might add. Originally I only had the HFPCs and J-Pipe but there was too much rasp for my liking, mid-pipe got rid of the rasp completely and I love how the car sounds so didn't even bother changing the muffler.

If you're curious I made a quick clip of how she sounds.

That sounds great. I bet it even sounds nicer in person. Thanks for the clip.

Quick question, does the RV6 J-Pipe retain the 3rd cat?

It does not, which I'll tell you right now most shops won't touch it because it removes the cat lol. That being said, it is probably the easiest piece of the 3 to install, the mid-pipe was only harder because you need a ratchet and wrench to get those bolts off which is a pain on your own. The pre-cats are probably the most annoying part, just a heads up the rear pre-cat will not come out without a fight once you get it taken apart lol. I had a friend helping me out getting all 3 of them installed, so it wasn't quite as bad. Still took us around 5-6 hours total, but I have no regrets.

I have PCDs and if everything else is stock the added sound is minimal but good. It adds a nice subtle growl and is really nice when you get on it. Rasp comes from removing the third cat with PCDs or HFPCs. The mid pipe is designed to remove rasp. There was no added smell inside the car but alil subtle added smell if you go near the exhaust tips after initial start up. A tune will probably address that further because a tune makes more power by leaning out what the factory computer does.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the strongest it's maybe a 1 but again only during initial start up and only if you start the car then get out and go to the back of the car.
