2018 TLX will it lure you from the 2018 Accord?

Would the new TLX lure you away from a 2018 Accord? Too early to know since we only have camo spy shots... but I think Acura continues to ruin its vehicles with these horrible grills. What up with the chrome pieces everywhere too.

If the rear styling cues of the 2018 Accord look too similar to the 10th gen Civic, it would be neither for me. Not a fan of the the current gen Civic's rear profile at all. However, the TLX doesn't look all that appealing to me either.

Unless the 10th generation Accord can pull off a miracle, I'll stick to the Gen 9/9.5 Accords.

I never thought they could do it but the new acura grill looks worse than the recent beak iterations on the ILX and TLX. I saw the refreshed MDX in person and it looks terrible.

staring at this even longer- i can't believe they could make something look so bad after a MMC. the original TLX was a handsome looking car, wtf did they do?!

They need to hire back whoever was designing their cars in 2005.. cause I loved the look of my TSX. This was the best looking TL too.

Design is an individual thing. What makes them all 'unattractive' to me is all the electronics that serve as expensive, buggy, dangerous distractions. Then you have to buy more electronics to compensate for distractions from other electronics. WTF indeed.

Will a car that hasn't been released yet and that we know nothing about (spec-wise) aside from what it will look like lure us away from another car that hasn't been released yet, that we know even less about, and have only seen heavily camouflage pics of?

The new Acuras just aren't my cup-o-tea. I liked the 2nd Gen TLs more than the last gen. Plus, they're overpriced. I'd rather stick with a Honda.

TSX is sweet. TL is just OK IMO but way better that the recent "shield" buck tooth theme that is almost as bad as the Lexus spindle.

Fortunately Acura slowly did away with the shield to an acceptable look on my '15. I actually like the '17 MDX grille a lot, far better than previous gens.

This thing below is like Jake from State Farm, hideous.

If the car has 70+ HP over its Accord Cousin then sure lets talk. Right now its 21 or 17 for the 4s and 12 for the 6s. Add in an expensive complicated transmission and nope!

If I can get a TLX cheap enough, maybe....I certainly tried but we were $2500 apart so I walked.

comfy seating

The only thing IMHO that really separates the TLX as better is the comfy seating. If they offered the Accord with an optional comfy seat that compared with the Acura I wouldn't give the Acura a second look (at it's hideous visage).

If the 10th Gen Accord has a Turbo 4 as the only option, and the TLX cleans up the front grill... id gladly jump ship. Only reason I bought my Touring over the TLX was the TLX's horrible transmission and cheap fake leather seats.

You can get the TLX with 'Milano' leather seats (iirc), but yes, the base model TLX's have imitation leather on the front surfaces.

2011 Prius Three - sold 6/16. Ran out of Nodoze to stay awake while driving and out of Pepto Bismol to keep from barfing over interior design. Good riddance!

It would cost nearly $50K to build a TLX that is comparably equipped to my 2016 Touring Accord I paid apprix. $29K for:

adding:

V6 engine
19" wheels
Advance & Technology package
AWD (a great feature the Accord lacks)

at $50K doubt I'd buy an Acura 4-dr sedan, more inclined to go the BMW/Jaguar route instead.

personally, I think the pre refresh / current TLXs look better. The new grill works ok on the MDX, but not on the TLX. Bad move by Acura.
