Dead battery or some other electrical problem?
I went to play some golf this morning. Had no trouble starting the car or driving it the 10 miles to play golf. When I went to leave it wouldn't start, wouldn't make any noise other than my Sirius turned on. Luckily I was with my friend who jumped me, we drove to Dunkin Donuts and because he was with me I figured he could jump me again if necessary. After 5 minutes in DD the car wouldn't make a noise and I couldn't get in using the unlock button on the key. He jumped me again and it started up but I had to stay on the gas to keep it going. The CEL and the ABS light would randomly come on then go off. When I got off the exit ramp the CEL came on and stayed on. When I went to pull into my driveway the car died and I was able to drop the clutch and keep it going to get into my driveway.
When I attempt to honk the horn all it does is sort of whine or groan.
When I put my headlights on they do not come on.
Is this a dead battery which I can easily replace or is it a more serious electrical issue.
I am borrowing my FIL's OBD reader today so I will try to get some code out of the car.
I have had the car for almost 3.5 years and it has 55,000 miles on it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
