Ignore my previous ramblings. I had 0w20 on the brain. The Honda 5w20 is a full synthetic. Honda does say you can switch from 5w20 to 0W20 i personally am sticking with 5W20 year round. I sell both mobile 1 and honda synthetics at my shop.

How much was it?

Oil should be made by ConocoPhillips

In Canada, Where I live, the dealership gave me 8.98$ for 1L = 1.05 Quarts. Where as the Mobil 1 1L is 11.87 at the local Wal-Mart. So I saved a decent amount of money when it comes to synthetic oil.

Wal-mart Canada doesn't sell the Mobil1 in a 4.73L / 5 qt container? They're usually cheaper than buying 1L / 1 qt bottles.

they do, but they're 47.99 or something close to that. plus i was already at the dealership, so I just bought it all in one place, I think I'm just going to get whatever is on sale and known brand, makes life easier.

Damn, that's pricey for 5qt of Mobil 1. Usually pick 'em up here for $28.99 regular price.

For the 2013 it is 0W20 in the 2013 owner's manual and on the oil cap of the engine.
My 2003 was 5W20. I dont know/remember about other years .

earlier was mostly 5w30... My old accord gets Pennzoil hm 5w30... Civic and Integra get Ultra 5w30 and 6-6 is Castrol Edge Titanium.. They all use the yellow pureone filter... None of engines have any sludge or anything they're all decently high mileage and they're all pretty much bare clean metal under the valve cover and below the pistons (as can be seen w oil pan removed)... I can't explain why i choose either or for each car but edge titanium seems to cling on to the metal. With the valve cover off it just sits nicely atop everything coating all the springs and everything and doesn't seep to the pan. Very interesting to watch lol

All i can say is i think its important to use a brand name oil and change the filter every single time. My aunts car changed filter every other time allegedly by the same shop for years. I pulled her cover off at 140k and it looked disgusting. They probably also used a shit oil too but regardless..

Brand name oil, filter every time, consistent changes..done

Engine Oil.

I have not seen a thread on this so I figured why not to start one every other forum goes nuts over this.
Which oil do you prefer and why?

Perhaps not in 9th gen but it is heavily discussed in fluid dynamics.
