Although Honda calls it a VSA off switch, I would tend to believe that the VSA wouldn't operate as the circuit would be broken if the switch was removed. I am thinking along the logic of when the button is press on, the circuit is complete; off, the circuit is broken.

But, it's easy to test; just unplug the switch and try. You can unplug it in seconds, after you remove the plastic under dash cover.

The VSA button is a momentary button. You can just remove the switch or button, but you will not be able to turn off the VSA. I never really have a reason to turn off the VSA, so removing it will be ok. I know that once I remove the switch, I'll have a need to turn off the VSA......

I'm not sure if it is my imagination; but, it seems like my car is faster from a take-off in dry with the VSA off.

The OEM factory fog has the switch built in combination switch. Cheap aftermarket has it besides the VSA with new shroud OR comes with none like yours.

Might be a stupid question, but under what conditions would you want to take off the VSA? I do it randomly for fun in the canyons to feel the body roll a bit more, but after some sharper turns it gets to be a bit much. Why do they provide this option? What's the practical purpose of the switch?

You will need to disable VSA when it's raining or snowing and you tire are just spinning. IIRC...

its Traction Control; basically your engine power will cut off and use the brakes to guide you through the turn; but it will slow you down a lot; The option provides a much sportier feel when the tires begin to squeal because if VSA is on, it will attempt to prevent that squeal.. Usually when I turn the car on, i push that button too

I thought that too. Seems like better throttle response. Could be just imagination, but it did seem like there was a little more torque and/or a little faster initial acceleration.

OP, I'm not an attorney but I wonder what legal ramifications there may be if you are in an accident and the other party discovers that you have intentionally removed/disabled a safety device???

It is always on, you have to manually turn it off. And I don't think there would be any legal liabilities because it's an on / off option. There is no law that says you should not disable VSA, if there were, they probably wouldn't make it turn off / on, at least not that I know of. I mean the real question is why you would want to remove the button period?
