Question Removing '96 Accord instrument cluster

Did the search and can't find my answer. I need to swap clusters in my son's '96 Accord. We can not get the defroster switch disconnected in order to swing the fascia out of the way. How does this disconnect???

Next, does the cluster remove by swinging the bottom out and disconnecting the three green connectors on the top, or does it come out top first??

Get a haynes or chilton repair manual.

This type of project is too in-depth to type it. Especially since you have to take out the whole dashboard. Have fun.

Got it swapped without having to "remove the entire dashboard!". Not rocket science. It was just a PITA to get the three switch connectors off the fascia so I could get the fascia out of the way to remove the cluster. Ended up taking ten minutes.

Chilton's and Motor manuals s u c k, anyway. With 2/3 of every page full of cautions and warnings that they keep repeating, they are just fire starting material, and not serious reference books.
