Well apparently my post title magically changed to explain what it is. I'm really not happy about it. Looks like total crap, and it's actually crooked. I'm going to swing by the dealer tomorrow and tell them I want it removed, and the screw holes fixed.

Good God man, there are posts on this like every week. Search the hundreds of threads on it- and how you can order and pay out of pocket for a new panel without holes. If you caught that BEFORE you took delivery, you could have a shot at making them get you a panel at their expense.

There was literally a thread on this YESTERDAY.

I have a theory- people that use Tapatalk to post don't search- and pay the price.

In conclusion, SEARCH is your friend.

It's a very cheap start kill system, that gets bypassed by inserting flat plug when someone doesn't want to pay for it. Not worth the money some dealerships charge for it, I've seen $495+ charged for it.

I'm glad my car went through 2 dealerships and nothing was added to it. I was soo prepared to have the dealer badges removed from the car before signing papers but they weren't on this particular car.

Hope all goes well in your situation.

Well for anyone interested, I had a very pleasant experience at my dealer yesterday. Turns out my car was a dealer trade from another dealer. My dealer does not install the KARR alarm in any of their cars, and had nothing but bad things to say about it. Since the alarm isn't supposed to be on any cars they sell, they offered to have their electric tech completely remove it, and replace the panel that had holes drilled in it free of charge. Could not have asked for a better outcome.

I paid $500 for mines cuz I was young and naive.
Mines are illegal and dangerous, no mater how much they cost, sir. They explode people all the time- even North Korea is scared of the mines planted between north and south Korea.

Or did you mean mines as in the place where miners work- hauling their earth-gotten goods such as diamonds, gold, silver, and asbestos? If so, was that a good investment?

If it's not too late OP, don't do anything to it. KARR is the BS the finance guy try to make that extra bonus. It's all profit for the dealership.

The bad part is, they (some dealers) installed in on ALL the cars while they PD. After saying "No" for the 200X, they just take the chip out.

Don't do anything, or make them mad by asking them to take it out and get you a new panel. Yes, you just spend $45K (Ody in my case). The wires have already been cut. I don't want them to re-patch it back, let along do a half ass job. And have the car go dead unsuspectingly.

"Learn" from your mistake and don't buy for that that dealership if you don't want it.

Counter Point: Have two Hondas with that BS on. Never caused me any issues, other than being an eye sore. And making it easier to steal my car. The wiring is already separated out and handy to steal. No need for the car thief to bend his back a funky way.

My 97 Toyota had one of those. Darn thing would go off if some idiot passed by with loud music on. Had the truck in for seat belt repair, and when the tech connected the battery it went off and he fell backwards. He wasn't hurt, so I laughed my ass off. If they hadn't put that stupid alarm in the truck, it wouldn't have gone off on him. I don't live in a high crime area, so there was no need for that type of alarm, it was just a way for the dealership to make a few extra bucks.

I just bought a 2013 Couple EX-L and cant seem to figure out what this is. Has a small wire that guess under dash. Didnt appear factory to me. Any ideas?

If you read the thread you just posted in you will find the answers to your question.

No one can figure out what this switch is. This switch is a push button type. Looks definitely like an aftermarket installation on my 2014 Honda Accord. It is mounted on the panel in front of the left knee of the driver. It measures only about 1.5” width and length. About ½” depth. It is wired into the power window switches in the driver door. I am the second owner of this car. The original owner had no idea what it is. Pushing the button has no effect on anything we can determine. He bought it new from Spreen Honda in Loma Linda California. Does anyone know what this switch may be for? Any hints of any type would be appreciated!
