Head-on collision 9.5gen

Those flames on the side though....

For a high speed head on collision, I'd say the 9th gen held up pretty well.

Whoa- I just caught this on local news about 20 minutes ago! They said one person (not sure if he was in the Accord or the other white vehicle (Buick?) was in the hospital with bad injuries.

Looks like it was not a pure-head on collision, but the far more dangerous "moderate overlap" collision.

But yeah, flames on the side of the car were probably foretelling. If you are gonna manufacture, distribute, and sell meth, perhaps the "COPS SUCK" forehead tattoo is not a good choice....

Just looking at the pictures, this does not look like an offset head on collision as the Accord definitely got the worst of it compared to the GM vehicle judging by the door handle. This looks more like the front of the GM vehicle more towards the passenger side struck the driver's side of the of the Accord. The side airbag deployed but I do not see the steering wheel airbag out. Did you see how the B-pillar completely sheared ? Not a good day for them and prayer's go out to them regardless of who is at fault. It is good to see these images to remind us that as marvelous as the technology is to save us, it cannot always do so; a defensive driving reminder. Thanks for posting this cdx008.

Correction1: I mean not an offset head on crash drivers's side to driver's side. Likely to have a head on component to the force though.
Correction 2: Perhaps the B-pillar was cut by fire rescue ?

I live a block from the crash site and was surprised I didn't hear this last night when it happened. Anyone that lives in Chicago knows that Archer Ave is notorious for late night speeding/racing.

I avoid many neighborhoods in Chicago because at night, it really is Fast & Furious street racing. No policing going on- many just take reports after the accident rather than risk the dangers of pursuit or lawsuits.

The larger avenues (Western Ave., Pulaski Ave., Archer Ave. etc) are the worst. Speed cameras are spotty....then no cameras for a couple of miles.

Update: Cadillac vs. Honda....the Honda driver is the one in critical condition- no word on if he was wearing his seatbelt. Neighborhood interviews say Loomis street is worse than Archer Blvd for this street racing stuff.

He wasn't wearing his seat belt, he WAS WEARING THE FLAMES on the side of the car. Racing on Archer near a specific section is virtually impossible, if you go over 35mph, that camera overhead flashes off.

Let's have a moment of silence for our fallen comrade. RIP 9th Gen Accord Sedan with flames on the side.

This should be a good enough reason why street racing is never a good idea. Sure, you may evade cops, but you cannot evade the Laws of Physics. I think paying for a track event is less expensive than dying(and you learn how to drive properly on a track), that's for sure.

Too bad the Accord has to sacrifice itself as a part of the natural selection process.

Yeah the A and B pillars look cut. The roof above the driver is pointing upwards as rescue workers were prying it open with hydraulic equipment, likely (at least partially) before the B pillar was cut.
