backed my 2016 Sport into a pole

Yes, I ran into something. More accurately, I backed into it. The irony is that I have never backed into (or ran into) anything in my adult driving life until I got a car with a nice back up camera. I backed my 2016 Sport into a pole at the gas station. I was reversing into a parking spot so I can reach the back seat area with the vacuum cleaner and I ran into a damn pole. I damaged the chrome molding and a little bit of the bumper. It took me two days to calm down because it was so stupid and careless how I did it. I don't know what I was thinking or looking at. Anyway, I found a replacement chrome piece online but I am not sure how to fix the bumper scratch. I have the pen/brush with OEM Honda paint. Do I just run it over or do I need to sand it down? Here are some pics.

It's difficult to tell from the photo, but is the paint scratch actually past the clear coat? If not, you might be able to buff it out.

Just replace the chrome trim, and touch up the scratch. This is something you should be able to perform well yourself. Don't sand the scratch....just clean it, let it dry, and touch it up.

If don't trust your DIY abilities, or want a more professional look. Find an experience auto detailer that also performs minor paint repair and dent removal.

Don't be so hard on yourself. In the scheme of things, you'll be able to fix with minimal cash outlay. 2 months from now, you won't even think about/notice it. Life's too short.
