guys

My 98 accord ex battery is dead in one night.I drove 100 miles with the same new battery.I checked the resistance of the + & - ve clamps (no battery conected)connecting multimeter.I was expecting infinite but it was 0 because it looks like it was shot somewhere. Then i pulled the 100a battery fuse in fuse box,the multimeter showed infinite resistance. What does it mean?.Is it alternator problem?.Is it shot somewhere?.Or this what it supposed to be?

I bought the new battery again. But i dont want to install it now because
of this problem.Please advice me.

Pulling the 100a (Sounds like the main fuse) would break the circuit and would explain the infinite resistance. Having 0 resistance just means the circuit is good so from your tests the results look normal.

The next thing to do is to check the DC voltage of the battery. Normal range should be 11.5v-12.5v with the engine off. With the engine running, you should see ~14v. Anything less means there is something wrong with the charging system.

You are right. The resistance will be zero between the 100a fuse &
the positive clamp because it connects the + ve (battery )& alternator .But
between - ve & + ve clamps there should be infinite resitance not
zero resistance i guess. If it is zero i guess there is shot between ground & positive. Is it right?.Please let me know how do find the shot if it is right.
thanks

There should be 0 or low resistance since the two connectors complete a circuit. When you have infinite resistance, that means there is a break in the circuit or those two connectors don't belong to the same circuit.

Test the battery first. Test it on the car if you can still start it or you can bring it to places like Auto Zone or NTB and they will usually test it for free if you can't start your car. Sometimes if a battery is shelved too long, it won't charge. You may have gotten a bad battery.

guys & ssmv6

As you guys said, there is some resitance after i removed the ignitin key.The ignition key stucked in 'ACC'(THIS WAS ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE in my car).It did nt came out.But the car start & run ok.Once i removed the battery,i was able to take out the key.I guess the battery clamps showed 0 resistance because of the key stuck in 'ACC'.

I removed the key then multim showed like 58k resistance between + & - ve clamps.I guess the battery was dead because the key stuck in 'ACC'.
When the key stuck in 'ACC',hope the battery will drain & dead in one day.
Hope i am right. Please advice me.

Please advice me How do fix it to get the key out of ignition, without removing the battery?

If i leave the key stuck in 'ACC',will it drain my battery??

Hope someone will be able to advice me.Thanks
