hi!! i recentley bought a 2004 accord lx coupe, and i was wondering if any of you guys might of pruchased an espelir exhaust system for the accord. my freind has a 240 and it sounds really nice! and these are some other questions that i want to ask.
1) how much was it because i cant find a price for it any where...
2) what will happen if i get a system for the V6 on a 2.4? will i loose hp??
thanks!!

Don't do it. Any of what you said above. If you can't find a price, probably they don't make it for your car. Besides that, I've never heard of this brand. Exhaust is not something you want to go cheap on. Every minute that you spend in your car, you will have to listen to the exhaust. If you buy a cheap system, the sound will probably reflect this. If it doesn't sound bad immediately, it will in about 3 years when there's holes in the piping.

An exhaust for a 4 cylinder Accord will typically run in the $400-$600 range new, though you can get significantly better for a used one. You CANNOT put a V6 system on an I4, at all. The I4 has an exhaust system that comes out of the center of the car (where the "H" symbol on the front is mounted), and then it does a 180 and goes out the back. The V6 exhaust is different because it needs to collect exhaust from two cylinder banks, where the I4 only needs to collect from one. The question is not how much HP you will lose, because you simply would never be able to get it on to begin with.

The "dual" exhaust on a Civic or Prelude are not true duals. One pipe comes out of the engine and then it splits again towards the back to give the dual outlets. Having true duals on a 4 cylinder would be very detrimental to performance.

Yes, I've heard of that brand. It made by Mackin Industries, it is called: Espelir JGT500. Why? Because it was used in JGT500 Racing, Japan Grand Tour 500. I'm surprised why no one ever heard of this exhaust system before. You can log onto here: www.mackinindustries.com to find their authorized dealers. Good Luck !!!

I have heard of Mackin before and I know they only import great products. But, still doesn't look like Espelir makes an exhaust for our accords.

did you try around though? or on those online stores? i've seen a video clip of the Espelir exhaust, but it was on the Subaru. Sounds pretty good, i don't know how it sounds on an accord, now, i'm skeptical between the Espelir and the RS-R, i heard RS-R is loud because this exhaust system does not use the resonator. RS-R comes in 2 pieces, the pipe and the main pipe that connects from the canister. I have 1996 Honda Accord LX Sedan, and my car is not really stock. anyway, if still no luck with Espelir, try different manufacturer, as long as they are made from Japan; genuine Japanese part.

Well the original thread wasn't about an exhaust for me and I don't know where the poster is now. I haven't been too keen about RS-R products in the past, I've heard they're really loud as well along with Tanabe. I like the gReddy Evo2 and Apex'i WS.

Tanabe does come with the resonator, RS-R does not. I had Tanabe before, muffler with custom piping, it was LOUD, it vibrates the car when i push in the throttle, and lost some bottem-end torques.
