guys

My compressor receiver line ,the long pipe runs from
condensor air dryer to the firewall,is broke in an accident.I bought the used one from salvage.I ran the pipe from firwall to condensor. It broke again.Because the pipe needs to bend 2 or three spot before get to the condesor.

1. Can some one please advice me how do run the line without breaking.

2. And also an electric connector runs from compressor to
a plug which is mounted on the cond fan.I dont know what it is for?
Is it for ground?

thanks

that aluminum line shouldn't break unless it's being bent or vibrated by something. If there were any clamps holding it in place they must be used.

If you are asking how to replace it without breaking it, you need to remove everything that can get in the way of gently laying it in place.

The wire going to the compressor is the magnetic clutch wire, (if it goes near the pulley) if it's two wires it's power and ground for the clutch. If it's one wire it's just + battery power. If that wire has broken off near the pulley, you'll need a new compressor clutch or compressor. depending on what's available for parts.

fred, thanks for the response.

I couldnt run the lengthy aluminium line(guess, suction line) from firewall to accumulator without benting here & there. There is a one clamp holding the line.

If i buy a brand new almu line, will it be pre bented to fit or
not bented??.I am thinking to buy a new one & run the line
removing everything that can get in the way as you said.

Can someone please give the picture of compressor with wire
connection detail.I am not sure my 98 accord ex has one wire or two wires
running from compressor.I will have to check it.thanks

No, there's not an instruction for running that line.... just carefully snake it through. I've search through the online info & dragged out the book too. It's on of those things that explaining how is probably harder than doing it.

You may need to take off any lines & brackets above where it runs. They come pre-bent & fit nicely, once in.

I'd lay it top & see what looks like it's in the way. :dunno:

thanks princess & forum.
Right now i drive my car with no a/c.when i had a front end accident
the condensor's some of the fins little bent, receiver line broke.
It looks like no freon left in the system.

do you guys think i can still use the same condens??
how do check the condens good to use the same??

right now i have plugged all the lines(compressor line,receiver/drier line with duct tape).I took off the receiver/drier.

do you guys think i can still use the same receiver/drier???

I am thinking i could use the same parts, put all together &
vacumm it(renting a vaccum pump) & charge it & check the leak & cooling.

will it work??

I will really appreciate the forum if anyone can give me write up on a/c service.

When the system has been open, then you must make sure that you put AC oil back in it when you recharge the system.

As far as reusing parts, you'll only really know if you try it. We've had a few real nightmares over the years! A client's '90 was an exceptional pain! Any particals can cause havoc....or any moisture. So if done carefully, you can do it.

There's a leak tester that MAY be rentable.... you put a dye in it & watch with a light & special goggles. It will show up a neon pink, green or yellow depending on the dye color, where it's leaking.

So what info do you need?

thanks princess.I hope the oil still will be in the compressor well.
How do you add the oil in the lines??
I thought you put the refrigent in the lines.I heard If you change the compressor compressor needs some type of oil. Please advice me.Thanks again.
