I have upgraded my speakers, and added a sub and two amps. I didnt upgrade the headunit because I wanted to keep the look of the interior of my car. My problem is that I was told that my sound is not that great because there is not enough voltage going to my amps. The solution was to get a "Line Driver" that would boost up the voltage to the amps.
I bought an eq/line driver that is put out by Audiobahn and now I am not sure where to install it. This new piece is the size of an average amp 9.8" (w) x 1.9" (h) x 11.8" (d). There are not too many obvious places in the trunk of an 03 that are flat enough to fit the amp. I had an installer tell me that I may need to fabricate something out of plywood and then carpet over it.
Anyone here that is into car audio installs that could give me some pointers? I was hoping to not block the ski door also because I do use that in the winter time.
Thank you!

In another Accord we had our amp mounted in the trunk hung from the "deck". (between the speakers) We found brackets that would keep it secure. It was to one side to be the least in the way. It worked great there for us.:)

I will have to check there, I dont know if the springs from my spoiler will get in the way.

I just looked in mine & if you don't have the Nav, it should fit almost centered, slightly to the passenger side......'cause that where the DVD is for the Nav! Doesn't effect the hinges or spoiler.:)

The speaker shelf has a lot of stuff inside too, have to be careful with that. What about on the underside of the decklid?

Benji I thought about that, but do you think that closing the trunk could damage an EQ? Plus I dont know if the trunk would release with the extra weight on it.

It would probably be hard to open the trunk with the EQ on it. Would it damage it? I don't know, it might actually.

I dont have a 04 so i cant really find the places for you. You could put it under one of the front seats if there's room. Check under where teh spare tire well if theres room too. Is taht a free air sub you have i dont recognize it. if its not you should really have a box for it. Sorry i'm not much help but good luck. O yea. the custom plywood and carpet is actually really easy if you have time.

Yeah, that's the area. You shou7lkd find that slightly off center will be just right. Ours has the Nav DVD there & it is pretty much the same size. I'll see if I can find a diagram of what wires may be in there for you. The spoiler wires aren't there.
Attached to the trunk lid would be too much stress on the audio stuff & add weight so your springs wouldn't work right.
Another option is down in the spare tire area. I've seen some that way, but not this gen.

If you mount it in the spare tire area wouldn't it need some ventilation? And you'd probably lose the spare tire as well.

The one I saw still had the spare. It had a 310w amp in there too. I don't know if it was vented. If it was it wasn't noticable. It was older though. '86 Accord, I believe.
The rear deck is where I've seen them the most.
