Hi first post here, i drive a 05 pearl blue sedan and my sideskirts are black, im about to get the sides and the outside of my mud guards painted to match. Do yall think I would run into any problems in the future if i paint these areas? Thanks

If it's done 'properly' (body shop quality) you'll be fine!

Depending on how much you find out it would cost to paint the side skirts, you might be better off just buying painted ones from Honda. Check in the FAQ for parts suppliers, I don't know how much it would cost but it shouldn't be all that much. A few years ago we had a source for 6th gens where it was only $80 each.

We're almost through our first winter with our painted mud guards, and they have been holding up just fine.

I'd look into buying the already painted EX side skirts like Ben suggested.

Did you paint your mudguards, or did you get it done?

^had them done by a body shop guy I used several times in the past. He gave me a good price on them plus the fog light trims. Pics and more details in this thread:

hey steve when the guy painted them he had to remove the whole sideskirt right? or is it molded on?

^remove to paint the sideskirt? I have an EX model, my sideskirts were already painted the same color as the body.

I had the mud guards painted before I installed them. The mud guards are not molded to the side skirts.

For you guys who painted your mudguards, did you primer them first, and then paint them?
