I was changing my air filter, and disconnected the plug on top of the AIr Cleaner housing. Dummy me, didn't think of it and I needed more light, so I started it up to back out of Garage, and the car stalled. I then replaced airfilter, put everythjing back the way it is supposed to be, but now the Check Engine light stays on. :dunno:

Does anyone know how I reset this so the light goes out? It runs like a champ, but I am convinced that because I tried to run it without that plug connected, that it now has made the light stay on.

Thank you.

It will stay on for a certain amount of time, and if it doesn't sense another fault then it will turn off automatically. If it doesn't bother you I'd just let it go. If it's a problem for you, the alternative is to reset the ECU.

Thank you. I will leave it alone and see what it does.

Hi, my check engine light has come on in the past for no apparent reason. I've been told and have read in the manual that in addition to a general engine problem this could have been caused by a loose gas cap. I have noticed that it shuts itself off generally within the same day or a couple of days. I too find it somewhat annoying.
