Hello forum,
My first post... a happy owner of a 1991 Accord - 2drLX. I bought this while I was in school and I'm very happy with the performance thus far.
However, when I bought it 5 years ago, I got it at a decent price because there were a few rust bubbles under the paint. It had 95,000km and the rust wasn't bad, so I picked it up.
A couple of years ago, I brought it to a couple of places and no one wanted to deal with the rust. Now, the rust is starting to spread a bit more and I'm considering picking up a high mileage Accord with a good body and switching the engines (getting rid of the rust is beyond the “worth it” point).
The engine now has 150,000 km, so it should last a good while longer. Most of my friends are engineers, so we have all of the tools... it's more of a compatibility issue.
Is switching the engines a good idea? What model Accords can I swap the engine with?
Thanks for any help!
~N.
