Not my first post, but figured I'd introduce myself...

Not my first Accord, but I feel totally new to the performance. My wife owned a '94 Civic EX until nearly two years ago. I sold it for her to buy a pre-owned '02 Accord SE (4cyl). Sad to say, I got distracted enough to not see an oncoming car coming around a curve on a two-way street, and BAM, bye bye car (I was making a left turn).

That was my fault... should've checked oncoming traffic more than once. Since I creamed wifey's ride, I decided to buy her a new ride. Hence, the first '07 Accord SE V6.

Well, I drove it for nearly all of the first 7K miles (b/c I commute over 100 miles to/from work daily). I gave the car keys back to wifey, and drove my Yukon. Long story short, Yukon motor throws a rod, I fix it up in 20 hours (new/used motor), I trade 16mpg (max) SUV in for... you guessed it... another '07 Accord SE V6.

I'm pleased with the performance of a 4-dr sedan. Of course, being an American muscle junkie, I'm already thinking of inexpensive ways to TRULY boost performance w/o voiding the 100K mile warranty on both cars.

Welcome!

The J30 (V6 engine) responds very well to a cold air intake. I know the TL gets an additional 17 by the use of one. If you are looking for big power, sell the Accord. You won't get the support for the J30. The engine is already tunned to give you max performance vs. reliability.

Congrats on the new ride. What year was your Yukon? Which engine (5.3?)? I love the new ones and if there was the Duramax in it, I would love it even more! Throwing a rod isn't something I'd want to have happen to me....

The accident was indeed something else! The video of it was even more shocking (don't have copies). Fortunately, I was the only one in the car... and the only one who sustained an injury (busted ankle, soar legs, and aching headache).

steven... it was an '02 Yukon with the LM7 version of the 5.3L (Flex Fuel). I'm not worried much about lack of outstanding muscle. I have "my baby" for that. That's an '86 Silverado C10 (box-style RCSB). It's now powered by a 5.3L with a few bolt-ons. I'm going to be ordering a performance transmission for it within the next few weeks. Hopefully, I can get it back on the road, and not run my new ride 100 miles a day, 5 days a week.

Welcome and enjoy it here.

It looks like other than the front end of the '02, the rest of the car is in really good condition.

Glad you decided to get a couple more Accord's. Safe cars, huh?

I got t-boned in my mom's old '02 SE. Got the whole driver's side of the car.
