The dealer said $199, how much is a reasonable price assuming the items which are inspected don't have to be replaced?

.....for a dealer, that is.

dude,

I just finished up that service (in my owners manual, it's called the 30K service)

1. Oil/filer change at local Honda dealer $31

2. Cabin air filter (purchased from LA Honda dealer) (simple to install) $27

3. Engine Air Filter (Kragen) $17 bucks.........

4. Rotation comped at local tire shop.

200 isn't bad for a dealer (around these parts 300 is more common)

but for $75 or so.............my old college bud eyeball the inspection items for me...................................(you get my drift, I think) Rocket science it ain't

..ez..

I agree with EZ you can change the cabin and air filter yourself, I let the dealer do my oil change and rotate the tires, I've had mixed emotions about those "inspections" I am wondering though when should a person get a Brake-Job?

Yo Dawgg!

...was wondering about brakes myself......so during the last tar rotation at 30k, I asked the boss lady if they could check the pads.......................

Keep in mind we all drive somewhat differently (oftentimes a LOT differently):

I don't use my breaks very much. I'm one of those types who looks way out to monitor traffic and retards the throttle appropriately. (Drives the folks behind me NUTS), but they fuel MUCH more than I..............

Ready for this? At 30k the tech indicated that I had "70-80 per cent left"

MADE MY DAY.

My Supra Turbo odo read circa 100,000 prior to first brake job (pads, not rotors)...

Regret if I'm too verbal; slow day at the office..........

best, ez..

Yeah, EZ has my driving down to a science.

Its all about planning as you can drastically reduce brake wear with simple planning!

It also helps we have the MT since we aren't battling the engine to stop the car.

...the kind words......

..but were the truth to be known the Supra Turbo was a GEN III - - - not the faster than dogXXXX last models (93 - to the end).......

..it's nice to see that a few others see fot to get their scan out of the ****pit and plan ahead. Sure won't hurt your fuel economy or brake pads.....
(may hurt your feelings when some mouthbreather flips you off, cuts back too soon after passing - or brandishes a pistola (we have big time gun laws here on the left coast, so only thugs pack weapons......)

..slow day almost over,

..best, ez...
