Hey guys! I'm thinking of getting a satellite radio any suggestions? i need one for my long trips to ottawa, canada. Can you buy one that doesn't require any additional antenna installed in the car? Please help.

Thanks in advance,

The ones I've seen on the market come with their own antenna.

Which service are you looking at? The Inno on XM looks awesome and has a built-in antenna. Just make sure you've got a good view of the sky from the unit and it should work well. After having the XM in my car for almost a year now I'm hooked, even though I do wish they used less compression.

you can get xm for 70 some dollars a year. there is a promotional thing for people they are trying to wrangle back into their service, though im sure you can say that you know that it exists and that you won't pay any more than that. there is a thread in the forums already. Though, imo, sirius is a better service...which shouldn't matter as much in the near future due to the xm/sirius merger.

If your car is "xm ready" like many civics and odyseys, Circuit City has an XM module for XM Ready radios that plugs right in for $50. It comes with the antenna. Unless you're into installation, they'll do it for about $50 bucks and do it neatly and you won't have to hassle with it. Like chanke4252 said, XM & Sirius are trying to merge so which service you get may not matter (although the FCC may rule otherwise). On the other hand XM has 4 subscribers for every Sirius subscriber. I've had XM for almost 3 years and love it for long trips and around town. The comedy on 151 is great for short trips.

I make frequent trips to ottawa and I mainly want the sat. radio for comedys :lmao: and of course great music. $70/yr sounds great, i might take a trip to circuit city today after work and see what they have.

Thanks guys
