Langka? I guess a touch up pen would do no good. I need to brush the touch up paint and then buff it out?

View Full Version : What can I do about this paint chip? edboc 04-10-2007, 06:37 PM Langka? I guess a touch up pen would do no good. I need to brush the touch up paint and then buff it out? Peniole 04-10-2007, 06:56 PM Ouch! How did that happen? I don't know if Langka will work on such a large gash, but I guess it's your best option before more drastic measures. thesteve151 04-10-2007, 09:20 PM wow nice battle scar  the touch up pen doesn't work as well as you think. it is hard to get smooth. edboc 04-11-2007, 04:30 AM Someone must of hit when parked at work. I park on the street in the city, so who knows how it happened. What will I have to resort to? I guess a detailing place wouldn't be able to do anything, so I would have repaint the entire door? Ramon 04-11-2007, 09:37 AM Just put a Type-R sticker over it! Just kidding  . Actually, I would just touch it up as neatly as possible, then live with it. If you fill it in gradually (and patiently!), as in one thin layer of paint at a time, it'll have a better chance of coming out even, and it might come out okay. Try using something thin, like a toothpick, to apply the paint so you'll have better control over where it goes. It doesn't look that bad, from what I see in your pics. Within a couple of months, you'll get used to having it there, and it probably won't bother you nearly as much as it does right now. brobo 04-14-2007, 03:59 PM agreed with ramon in a couple of months you get more chip and ding all over the car. that one won't look too bad at all WolfpackBill 04-14-2007, 04:31 PM ...and don't use the supplied brush. Use a toothpick. Snap it in half and use the dull end as the brush. Works great especially when you want to spread the paint as thinly as possible. Once it's dried, use a 2000 grit sandpaper and wetsand that area. Polish and voila! A perfect repair. Good luck!! |
