Hello all, I'm going to be leasing a new Accord V6 EX this month. I'm having trouble deciding on a color. I've already decided not to get black (too hot) or white (my last car's color). Any advice on which is easier to keep clean, or any other deciding factors?

Thanks!

Len

Easiest to keep clean & light for comfort would be the satin silver. It's a true silver without any hint of tan or blue or any other color. It's what my '02 was & I loved it! Under the sun it sparkles like diamonds. Under florescent lights it almost looks amethyst. I went with the dark eternal blue this time.....it's harder to maintain, but I still love it too!

Good luck with your decision! Welcome to the forum!!:)

Yes, my vote is for the satin silver as well.

You'll get a very nice black interior with that exterior color.

Black interior in South Texas? Seems like you should consider the available interior colors too....

Actually, I didn't notice a big difference in how hot the car gets on the inside on a hot summer day.

I think living in southern Texas would mean that any car's interior is gonna get very very hot... regardless of what color it is. :)

I didn't know the new silvers had a black interior! Mine had gray. I suppose if you it wasn't leather it wouldn't be too awfully scorchy though.... We have a month or so of 105 degrees here in August & it doesn't take long for the leather to cool after getting pretty hot. Since we don't get rain with our heat you can hit the button & roll down all the windows to let out the hot air before getting in the car. That makes it lots more comfy! The other light color is the gold/tan one......

Go to Honda.com to see the choices. It has the interior colors too.

Well, on the new sedan, if you get the silver exterior, black is your only interior color choice.

On the new coupe, you have a couple more options.

Motor Trend did a test in Death Valley regarding interior temps and the black color did get much hotter inside than the white. They tested it on different vehicles but I think it's safe to say it does make a difference.

Well, whether it gets to 120 degrees or 130 or 140 degrees, it's still hot.

.. and there's no way to escape it.

I like the black interior on my Accord. In cloth, I think it looks better than either the gray or tan interiors.

learned my lesson the hard way. got into the car without rolling the windows down after it had been baking in the sun all day.
dont know which was worse. the pizza oven heat or the leather that felt like hot melted cheese on the back of my legs.

Teehee, one of the reasons i didn't get leather! Granted western PA doesn't tend to have as many consecutive 90+days, but we definitely get our fair share. If it's any consolation my ruby red Civic with beige interior never seemed to be any cooler after a day in the sun than my nighthawk black Accord coupe with black cloth interior!

Go for the Satin Silver :D
I got the black cloth interior and I have 2 cats. Lemme just tell you they dont mix too well. I wish I had gotten leather.

I agree!

The leather gets hot, but actually cools down faster! The cloth seems to retain the heat longer! AND easier to clean....

I'm definitely getting leather. I've got my choices narrowed down to silver, green and desert mist.

I don't think the color of the interior is as important as the color of the exterior. I went down the row of cars today and the blue, red, graphite and black were all much hotter to the touch than the white, silver, green and desert mist. That surprised me about the green.

Anyone else think the desert mist is more like gold?

I just found this article on the popularity of car colors.

http://money.cnn.com/2003/12/11/pf/autos/colors/

I guess the desert mist qualifies as "light brown"....
