One of my favorite things to do is change the oil in my car because of that smooth silky feeling the engine gets. I am going to change my ATF as soon as I can get to the dealership. My real question is about the brake fluid and power steering fluids. I dont figure I need to change them anytime soon, but when would should I change them? Would I need the Honda fluids like I do for the ATF? Just asking some general questions now so I can have the info later on when I need it.

I ususally follow the reccomended intervals in the manual for noth of thsoe. I think I do it every 30-40k though. More than I need to have it done I'm sure.

Stick with Honda's PSF.

For fluids for your car, stick with Honda atf z1, and their power steering fluid, same for the coolant as well.
Brake fluid, you can use any high quality DOT 3 or 4. NEVER use DOT 5 silicone fluid. Silicone fluid is not suitable for abs equipped cars and will allow all kinds of problems to develop. It is supposed to be tinted violet to make it obvious it isn't the same.
Change intervals:
ATF- minimum 30k, I'd never let it go as Honda recommends in their newer manuals. If you're very heavy city driving, I'd do it at 15k intervals.
PS- personally I have never changed one, never saw the need and never had any problems with the p/s system. Maybe if you see lots and lots of tight turns at slow speed it should be done yearly.
Brake- every 3 years maximum.
MTF- every 30k with lots of short trip city, 60k highway.

is it easy to flush and drain both the brake fluid and PS fluid. I was reading the AAA magazine and then say it should be done every 24K miles

Where I reside I can't get ATF z1. The only fluid available is Dexron II. Can I use That?

Good source for Z1 and if you buy 7 of them, good for two changes, the cost plus freight is still probably lower than at most stealerships.

I would change the PSF every 30k miles. I wouldn't bother with a full flush then but a drain & refill. This will keep it somewhat fresh & clean.
