Well everyone, I deleted my old introductions thread as I decided to go off and make my own web page for my car. It's not compeltely done, but it will be, I plan on documenting all my service reccords, trips, etc.

About me -
My name is Tyler, I drive whatever is in my signature (saying that so I don't have to update in the future, how's that for smart! :lmao: ). I'm currently in High School, I'm from San Francisco, California but I've lived in Texas the majority of my life. First Houston, then Austin. I'm an Art/Theatre major and an aspiring architect. I'm a part time fashion & hair model for various expo's, and companies. Recently, I've been working with a company that's hosting a large even in San Antonio Soon. I've also found a new love for web design, so maybe I'll be a nerd in the furutre! :lmao: Who knows! :dunno:

Here's my site. Enjoy.
Site (http://web.mac.com/smithpclaw/iWeb/Site%202/Welcome.html)

Thanks for viewing! :D

James,

Over here you must be wealthy to own a Mercedes.........not only to buy it but especially to maintain it. They are problem prone and cost a small fortune to own here in the colonies. If you GAVE me one I would sell it as soon as possible. I'll stick with my Japanese made car, thank you.

We have loads of old Mercs here, people can get spares from the scrap yards, lots of my friends have owned them for years and love them to bits. :)

The diesel Mercs are obviously more in demand now. :)

I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy one, it's affording it (here) that leaves me in the cold.

Well so far it hasn't really been very costly to maintain. The 22.500k service was just done (that's the interval between services excluding oil change) and it was $135.68 (done at carmax) just basically an oil change ($86 - uses mobil one synthetic and has a special filter).

Also, the car is under a full warrantee for 2yrs or 24k since January.

As for how it drives, it feels alot faster than it is, and the 2.6V6 is as smooth as butter. I also love the sound it makes at high RPM, and the tiptonic mode works great! However, the gear selector took a day to get used to. I've run Premium and Regular so far, honestly, I'm not feeling the difference, however I believe it's recommended to use premium. I'm also averaging 23.4MPG, which isn't bad seeing as I've been driving it with a pretty heavy foot. The first think I loved about this car was the paint. It's beautiful!

It definetly had me the moment I saw it. It might be a base model Mercedes, but I still feel like a million-bucks driving it. Not to mention it's as heavy as a tank!

Service interval? :dunno: FSS should not have any service interval!!

And it's a 2.6L V6

Well I'm just going off of my service receipt from CarMax. It says 22,500mi service (A).

Thanks for the correction, I honestly haven't even opened the hood on it. I was probably thinking about how I wished I had a V6 in the Accord; which would've been a 2.7litre.

accordlover,

sure, the v6 in the accord would have been ince, but remember as well here, that engine design was over 10 yrs old when they dropped it in there....

it was past its time, but still, a reliable performer nonetheless....

True... However, the Mercedes has a 5spd auto, and more tourqe. Oh did I mention RWD? :naughty: I've enjoyed that alot.

Well I honestly don't wish I had a V6 in my Accord (at least not the way Honda set it up...), because all the V6 Accords from that generation suffered from horrible nose dive, extremely bad weight distribution, and a Transmission that could never decide what gear to be in. Car and Driver didn't like it very much in their 1995 Sedan Comparo. I believe it was 4th or 5th out of 6. Whereas, the 4cyl was always applauded by them for overall excellence.
