I have a 1998 Honda Accord Ex(4cyl) 4dr. I love the car. I put a few mods on it to try to get some more horsepower. Header, cold air intake, unorthodox ss pulley kit, accel igition kit, hi-flow cat and exhaust. Soon I will have my Gudebullfrog performance package(ported and polished head, ported intake, throttle body, camshaft and cam gear). I recently decided to turbocharge my car. I am looking a purchasing a Garret T3 or Garret T3/T4 Hybrid. Will I need to replace the stock internal like the valves, valve springs, retainers, cylinder sleeves, rods, pistons and crank? I don't plan on running anymore than 8-10lbs of boost. If I do need to change them out where can I find the parts? All I see is the parts for an H22. I think my engine has a lot of potential. Also if I put an H22 into it I will not be able to afford a turbocharge.

The stock componants will work with the turbo. While not necessary, any ultra high horsepower engine can benefit from having a "bullet proof" bottom end. Things like roller rockers and high pressure springs to keep the valves from floating at extreme RPMs. Steel cranks to handle mega horsepower. Dish pistons to lower the ambient compression, so you can run higher boost pressures. (I use to run 30 pounds on my drag bike  ) You can spend as much money as you want on an engine. What you have to decide is what your limit is, either in dollars or horsepower. Also, don't forget your transmission must now handle this horsepower.

While I'm not going to dump $20,000 under the hood. I am will to spend enough to get my car to around 300-350hp. I have already changed out my clutch(ACT stage 2) and flywheels(Flexalite 8.8lbs) so I think my tranny should be able to take all the added power. Also I want to change out my final drive ratio. Can I put the same final drive ratio(just the gears) in that the Prelude has? If so where can I buy the parts and also replacement internals? Like I said I have looked hi and low and can't find anyone selling anything but bolt-ons.
