Does anyone have any opinion on a particular type of sunglasses? I have looked at Ray Ban's and thought that they were nice. I recently looked at some Maui Jim's and really liked them. My big concern is spending $150-$200 on a pair of sunglasses and having them get scratched after only a few weeks. :thumbsdow What do you all think?

Are the like designer perscription glasses? Or just regular sunglasses?

I really like Dolce & Gabbana's new line of Mens sunglasses, as well as Armani, but you really have to know what look you're going for. :dunno:

Sunglasshut has a plethora of name brands, check them out.

I wear contacts so I am not looking at prescription sunglasses. I guess I am looking for some of your experiences with the more expensive designer brands. Are they worth the money? Do they scratch just as quickly as the cheap brands?

My prince has been a RayBan wearer for years.

Nearly all of mine have Mickey, Tink or sonething on them to match my outfit at the time. Some lenses are pink, blue, dark gray....anything bu green. All are UV protectant though!! :D

I stick with Ray Ban because of the low cost and I think their lens is top notch.

My fiance has ray bans and they are very nice. Polarized lenses as well and it eliminates most of the glare. I have a pair of oakleys I paid over 100 bucks for. Ive had them for 5 years and I love them. I guess when you pay over 100 bucks for sunglasses, you tend to pay more attention to them so that you dont lose them or get them scratched.

I only wear the Oakley Juliet glasses. I have three pair, one of which is all black and polarized. That pair is my military pair that I can wear in uniform.

I've had my first pair of Oakly Juliets for over 5 years, no scratches and the frames are bulletproof.

I just depends on what you want. High qualify glasses are much better than the cheap ones, but you def. need to keep track of them as their are expensive.

Oh, be careful of the polarized lenses. There are many LCD displays you won't be able to see with them as it blocks out that light.

I've got about 5 pairs of Oakleys and their all great. Especially my polarized Monster Dogs, which is what I wear most of the time.

It dosent totally block it. I can still see my ipod in the car just fine...

I wasn't able to see some of the navi display in the new Toyota Tundra and I've read of many instances where they are bothersome to some of the electroluminescent gauges of many new cars.

Just a word of caution. They are illegal to wear in an airplane when you are the pilot as the block all of the light from heads up displays.

Wow, I am a cheap sunglass person. $15 a pair is what I usually spend and I have kept most of them for a year or two without any problems. I just dont see spending that kind of money on something so easily lost. It happens rarely, but if I drop a pair or loose them, I might be a little pissed that I dont have them anymore, but not a hundred dollars pissed.

From my personal experience, I am just not happy with the inexpensive sunglasses I have tried. I have not purchased a pricey pair yet but the ones I have tried on definitely have much superior optics...the look is just much clearer....but I want to pick the right pair if I am going to spend up wards of $150.

Just a few months ago I replaced my original oakley lenses to polarized ones because I had scratches on them that annoyed me. I go thru prescription lenses faster that how long I had my original oakley juliet lenses. The frames (polished metal) are still original and have withstood constant drops. And Ive actually replaced the rubber ear and nose pieces because they were so worn after 5 years. I've got nothing but good things to say about my oakleys, definitely worth the investment.

Also my polarized lenses do obscure a small amount of my mp3 player screen depending on the direction I look at it. It also makes my radio display just a bit harder to see because it dims everything, but not totally blocks it.

I've got myself a pair of Polarized Oakley Whiskers. Love em, bit expensive, but I think theyre worth the money. I spent maybe 200 for everything including the case. Though you may probably never need them, the lenses are ANSI compliant for safety glasses...

Oakley, RayBan, and Maui Jim all make really nice sunglasses. You can't go wrong with any of them in my opinion.

After much debate and trying on twenty different pairs numerous times, I decided on a pair of Maui Jim's...They are light and the fit is great. I almost don't even know I am wearing them.

Take a look....
