Or borrow a dog. He'll get the hint and leave.

Open the door, let him out while holding a pellet gun. Or a paint gun with frozen paint. If you ping him, maybe he won't come back. If he's been on your car, it would likely mean there's scratches now. Unlike a cat, their claws are always out. Nasty little critters!
They aren't as unhealthy as people think.... but I HATE all rodents. Even cute ones. I've sat in my gazebo with a BB gun at the ready for taking out squirrels. We have one that keeps eating my strawberries.
Unforunately I'm not too quick right now! :dunno:

Did he bring his tool box? :D
Seriously though, you should have shifted your car and chased him off with a yard brush. :)

Start the car with the garage closed and leave for a while.

If you do that, you might end up with a smelly raccoon cadaver in the rafters...
Just chase it out, then find and close up whatever opening it crawled through to get inside.

Hopefully. The other possibility is that with the garage door open it'll invite a few of its friends over to its swanky new pad. :lmao:

We had a raccoon get into the basement of my mom's old house (actually climbed down an unused chimney to the furnace). I "caught" it with a baseball bat. Still have the tail, in fact.
They aren't scary critters. Put on a couple long-sleeved shirts, a hat of some kind, and make sure you're wearing sturdy gloves, shoes and pants. Don't use a big bulky weapon, use something short and easy to use in close-quarters. Get the cars out and chase the bugger out the door. (A broom will probably be necessary to get him down from the rafters.)
But generally-speaking you don't have to worry about a 'coon. They're not very aggressive and most of their hostility is a panic-induced ruse to make you leave them alone. The only reason I didn't just chase the one I had out of my mom's basement is that I couldn't be sure it would actually leave the way it came, and I didn't want to risk it running up into the house.

I nominate this for post of the day. If we had that award, this would be awesome.

At least you guys have raccoons. Around here we have bears (http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/bearinfo.htm).
And for some reason I don't think they want a pic-nic basket... :paranoid:

Back in Guam, we had snakes. We used our pellet guns on 'em. :naughty:

called animal control to come pick it up tomorrow since the cat has no collar, and no need to have it come back in again...
The racoon is still on the loose....should of just taken care of it that day...
