I removed it to see whats going on. Didn't know about that test in that pdf file above but I tried various combinations with a 12v power supply. What I found out is that after I manually turned the knob of that actuator a few times it worked! So before you go out start buying that part (that by the way is THE most expensive part of the door lock assembly, you may want to turn it manually left/right a few times to get it unstuck. thesteve151 10-28-2007, 03:55 PM also try some electronics parts cleaner, it worked wonders on my bros, vw power door locks:thmsup: TonyWare 10-29-2007, 03:40 PM also try some electronics parts cleaner, it worked wonders on my bros, vw power door locks:thmsup: Very true! I personally used compressed air in a spray (same stuff I use to clean my PC keyboard) to clean the grease on it. Obviously when the dealer lubed the door latches they went overboard as it was coverd with a thin coat of that white stuff they use. By, the way, I did make a point to inform the dealer not to go postal on my locks with their lube next time around. hitman787 04-29-2008, 07:10 PM having a major issue, I have an 03 accord coupe. I was having problems with the passanger side door lock. I bought a replacement actuator and replaced it. I tested the door lock and it looked like it worked. the problem I am having is that when I closed the door it wont open with the handle inside nor outside. Any help would be appreciated. sy272004 06-27-2008, 04:02 PM having same problem. gona go look at it now hitman787 07-02-2008, 08:01 AM Just took the car into the dealership and had them deal with it. They said that the door mechanism was bent. Not sure how this happend because I removed the door lock when replacing the actuator. Oh well door is working again. sy272004 07-02-2008, 08:02 AM yeah they totaly bsed you. how much did they riped you off for? kaldereta 07-15-2008, 08:18 PM I have an '04 accord coupe and today thought my keyfob's battery went dead when i tried to lock the car and didn't hear the horn activate....upon closer inspection i noticed the driver's side lock was having trouble going down when i pressed Lock on my key so now i have to press it down then lock on my keyfob...sorry if this is a dumb question but do you recommend the above before going to the dealer on this issue?? TIA! sy272004 07-23-2008, 09:18 PM i have lock actuator if you want to buy it since that was not problem with mine and i cant return it JulieM 08-06-2008, 12:29 PM I'm having the exact same issue with my 2004 Accord Ex. The keyless entry works for the trunk but not the drivers side door. Also I can't lock or unlock the drivers side door from the inside switch on the door. I can only lock & unlock it manually. I hear it clicking when I press the button on the key but nothing happens. If you have already fixed this issue can you tell me how or what was wrong? sy272004 08-06-2008, 01:02 PM I'm having the exact same issue with my 2004 Accord Ex. If you have already fixed this issue can you tell me how or what was wrong? looks like you have actual actuator problem. my problem was that my door was not opening from inside with handle and that cable from door handle to door lock was bad. can you unlock and lock car with key itself (not remote) if you put it in door hole? if you have actual actuator problem i can sell you mine that i end up not using it |
