Anyone out there experiencing trouble with their 8way power seats shifting from side to side when cornering, or going over a driveway entrance or speed bump at an angle?
I have been having trouble with my '03 ex sedan, and the dealer advises that they have no other reports, and do not detect the trouble themselves when test driving. I saw a service bulletin pertaining to an identical trouble, but, it was for an earlier year model. Has anyone submitted a complaint with Honda Motor Co. directly?

A guy I work with has an '04 EX V6 and has complained about the same problem...nothing significant, but enough that he noticed it. He brought it to the dealer's attention and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the seat. I've also read about this problem on this or other forums (try V6performance.net)...you're not alone!

I also have an '04 EX V6, but [fortunately] have not had this issue.

I have an '03 V6 that had a different seat problem. It shifted fore and aft during stops. The dealer here told me there are three separate problems with the seats. One was mine where they had to replace the complete seat frame (it fixed it), one was similar to mine but caused by worn bushings that have since been updated, and then there was the side to side caused by something else (I didn't pay much attention to that as it didn't affect my car). The problem is known, recognized and has a fix. You might find some info on Edmunds.com forums. My dealer made me demonstrate the problem (they couldn't make it happen). I practised until I could duplicate it every time and went for a ride with the tech telling him what to do to set up the condition. He made it happen first time, said "Oh, yeah." and fixed it. If you can, try another dealer or be ready to demonstrate the problem. It is not normal, not in your head (at least others have had the same problem). Good luck.

Great post snakehair!!!

And an excellent point... Usually a dealer will be more than happy to fix something they can see... plus avoid being confrontational with service people and they will be glad to help!!!

I1:)

If there is a bulletin out I am sure Princess will post when she returns...patience...:D

Thanks for the link EP307. I will check it out. Glad you don't experience the same trouble....like you say though..'it's not significant, but noticeable'. When i get this resolved, I'll be sure to let everyone know the fix.

Snakehair...thanks also for the link, and the idea of 'practicing' to reproduce the trouble. I agree that i need to teach myself on how to demonstrate the trouble before expecting others to understand!

I will be patiently awaiting any and all info from Princess..... What
an asset!......looks like now i will need to turn my attention to the transmission recall instead though...then i'll get back to perfecting a demonstration.

I still would not trade for anything else of the same price! I think we all agree!

no follow-up yet. the movement has not increased to any degree, and, at times, i wonder if the position of the seat (ie- full extension) may have a part in it. I don't quite remember what site i saw the info on, but i was scanning 6th gen TSBs, and saw that the electric seats have a long history of similar trouble, and was hoping that in time enough people will report the trouble and cause a TSB to be issued for the 7th gen. I only have about a year to go on warranty, so will probably scan to see if there is a TSB in the works, and if not, start to actively try to figure out a reproducable method to demonstrate the trouble. Once i lock it down, i'll post the details.

Although the newer Accords aren't on this, the problem may still be the same...

:dunno:

I asked my service writer and he said they have seen it before on 7th gens and he just had to check with the tech that works on my car to see what parts to order. so as soon as I find out exactly, i'll post. :)
