Has anyone ever been able to mod the passenger window to work like the drivers window, as in Auto, so that if u push the button all the way down it will go all the way down by itself and vice versa...

we had a discussion going on about this on g7a and no one was able to ever do it, someone mentioned a 50-60 dollar device that could be wired into the passenger side, however it only allowed u to make the window go down and up all the way, and not in between like the drivers window

Wouldn't you need the drivers side style swith? On my car at least (don't remember about the TSX and 03 Accord) it has kind of a 'notch' when you press it that makes the window go auto down. I mean I suppose you could use the current switch if you always wanted the auto down; that is if the Accords still use switches like that. Go to your drivers door, don't turn on the car, but pree the passenger front and the driver front, you should be able to feel a difference if there is one.

^i understand what your talking about

my accord is the same way, the passenger doors are double throw switches while the drivers door is a double, double throw switch

this mod would require the drivers door button, however ppl say that its not the switch that controls the full down/up function, but the circuit that goes along with all the windows...

so i was wondering if anyones attempted this yet

Easy enough you can get a module from most car alarm manufacturers that let's you do it. Basically it'll convert the switch so that if you just tap it up or down the window will go all the way up or down. If you need to stop it you can just tap it anything during this and it'll stop at that point. You can also just press and hold and then let go when you get to the point you want it at, just like normal.

DEI makes one that is the 530T. I used it for years when I still installed car audio.

I recently came across this interesting homemade circuit (http://www.zapwizard.com/Car/moonroof/Automatic/Index.html) (for a Mazda) which adds the auto feature for a moonroof. I would imagine that without to much work (or expense), this could be adapted to work for the windows.

Personally, I would like the auto feature to close the windows. It's rather annoying trying to close the window, steer and shift with only two hands while driving away from a drive-up window etc. A quick pull, and I'm free to drive.

^hmm nice find...

im actually going to attempt to put the drivers switch on teh other doors to see if that works...

for your problem though, you can buy a kpt window up module ( www.kptechnologies.com )

^you wire it into the drivers side and then you can roll up all the windows from teh key fob by hitting lock 3 times (kinda the opposite of being able to roll down teh windows by hitting unlock twice)..the cool thing about this is that you can also just hit the lock button inside the car 3 times and the windows will all roll up

That might not be as easy as it seems. If the Accord still use one piece units for all four switches to all four windows, when that drivers switch is only going to come on the 4 switch unit. However, I suppose if your REALLY wanted this, you could take a driver switch apart, and place the actual 2 stage switch into a pass. sized switch unit/holder. As to if it would work, and if it would feel the same after taking it apart, idk. Personally, I think you could put time and money into other parts of the car. The chrome stereo knob mod is a nice touch (from 03-05 models).

Back when I had my 95 civic I attempted this. I discovered that there is an electromagnet in the switch that engages when the switch is pushed all the way down. (I think that is the switch is called. kinda like how a toaster works.) I was able to make the passenger side go auto by switch the plugs. Not sure if that is how the accord does it.

im probably going to be ordering the kpt window module for the key fob, and when i do...im going to take apart the drivers switch while the door panel is off and see if i can get it to work

if anyone happens to have any pictures of the drivers switch please post :)
