Hi all,
We need to replace the driver's side halfshaft in our 03 Accord EX, 4dr, 4cyl MT, but I am having the hardest time finding anybody who makes or carries aftermarket halfshafts for these 7th gen Accords. I tried the usual auto parts retailers and they directed me to an imports shop who also said he didn't have anything. He told me to try the dealership, but the prices are steep there.
Is there a reason no one is making these kinds of parts for the 7th gen? Am I just barking up the wrong tree? Thanks so much!

Go here:
http://www.raxles.com/
A friend had a very good experience with their parts and found them to be of highest quality. However, his car is a 1986 CRX-Si, so I cannot say with certainty that they will have your part. They have a great rep, so if anyone would, I'd think they would.
Look in your local phonebook yellow pages under "Axles" and see if you have a local rebuilder.
If you can bring them the halfshaft, you're close to done at a great price.

Get the part number and check online dealers, they usually are much cheaper

most aftermarket driveshafts are normally made for cars that are putting down crazy power....
i think a 1-2 ppl have them on v6p, but thats only cause they have like turbo or supercharge
plus those cost more....
you can always just go to a junkyard and grab the driveshaft off another accord for cheap..

Thanks for all your replies guys! I really appreciate the help. The reason I wanted an aftermarket (I meant something like Valucraft or some other in house brand) is because they are typically 200 dollars cheaper or so. I've done them on our Civic for $65 and it sure beats paying $300. I'm going to check with some local axle rebuilders then maybe with raxles.com I was just surprised that none of the big places carried in house brands. Thanks again!

How many miles on the '03?
There was another post here somewhere that mentioned a bad halfshaft and the dealership warrantied it even though it was way out of warranty.
I think you can get reman Honda axles, but you have to find an online seller that offers them.
There are also offshore "new" axles avail for many cars, I've used a few at work, they seem ok, only time will tell.
