Hello everyone, this is my first post! I just picked up my white 2004 Accord EX-V6 sedan today...what a car! It has 31k miles, is just off lease, and is in absolutely flawless shape. Every option except nav. It's exactly what I wanted -- I like 2004 because that's my favorite rear taillights (don't like the all-red of 2005 and I don't like the larger butt of the 2006+ models all that much...but to each their own, I know some people hate the 2003-2005 rear ends), and white was the color I wanted. I don't know why, because I usually don't like white cars, but I just thought the Accord looked so sharp in white.

I got a heck of a deal on it, and drove 250 miles to get it. This is the first car I have bought all by myself, now that I have graduated and have a real job; my past vehicles have been due to my father's generosity. My first car was a 1995 Dodge Intrepid ES that I drove to 142k miles, given to me by my dad in high school, and my previous car (which I now need to sell) was a 1997 BMW 540i, driven to 107k miles, which my dad paid for most of (got it in 2004) as a sort of college present.

Yeah, that's right...I went from a V8 BMW to a Honda Accord, and after driving my new Accord 250 miles home today I don't regret it one bit. The BMW is a heck of a driving machine, that's for sure, but it's also a gas guzzler, a nightmare to maintain, and was starting to have a lot of problems.

I'm amazed at how rock-solid the Accord is. I love driving it. I drive 120 miles a day for my commute, round-trip, so I need a good cruiser for the highway. It's incredibly impressive, and I'm even more impressed with the gas mileage I got on the way home -- 34 MPG!!! (The BMW gets 24-26 hwy, 14 city). That was driving at 75mph almost the whole way. I can't believe I was getting that mileage when the EPA says 30, but I did the math and the numbers don't lie.

I just got back this evening, after dark and in a storm, so no really good pictures yet. Here's some at the dealership though:

I'm not mod-crazy, but I do have a few plans. Coming this week: 35% tint all the way around, a USA-SPEC iPod integration kit, and the gold emblem kit (every time I see a white Accord with gold emblems, my eyes are drawn to it. The gold doesn't work on all colors, but I sure love it on the white!). That's probably about it for the exterior; I can't justify expenses like rims to myself, let alone my soon-to-be wife. Functional stuff though is A-OK; at some point I will be building a carputer in. I'll be sure to keep a worklog!

Looking good car and gas mileage. I think the license plate needs a good wash.

Thanks! That plate's not on there anymore, it was the previous owner's. My state (IN) doesn't require front plates, so that front bracket is coming off tomorrow.

When the gold badges come, I'm thinking about just having the "H" emblems on there but not putting the gold "Accord" on (I didn't even order a gold "V6", I know I don't want that on there). What do you guys think? Accord, or no Accord?

You might as well, the Accord is in the wrong place anyway...looks like the trunk has been resprayed or something like that

Huh? That's exactly where every 03-05 Accord's label is. And the car has never been in an accident, or repainted.

White just looks so fresh
Any chance you could lose the front plate.?
That was the first thing I did with mine. Smoothes up the front lines.

Yeah, if you read my second post above I mentioned that's the first thing I did too. Here's what it looks like more recently, after I removed the front plate bracket and had tint done:

Very sharp! I've always thought Hondas looked handsome in white.

I love it, it's a fantastic drive. My only complaint is the couple rattles that I can't seem to get rid of...one in the steering column and one in the head unit.

Me too. I normally don't care for white cars, but when I started looking at Accords I kept noticing how sharp the white ones looked.

Love white Accords. Would've gotten a white one myself, but that beige/ivory interior is just too light for me. Now, had it been offered with a darker (black or gray) interior......

You can't justify new wheels to your soon-to-be wife, yet you can the carputer? Just tell her that the new wheels will offer better handling which will mean avoiding accidents better.

I believe her exact words were: "But you already have wheels..."

The carputer flies because we don't have nav/internet/mp3 built into the car. Even that's a long ways off though, we have so many other things to buy that I consider more important than rims or a carputer. Like living room furniture, HDTV, etc.

If she likes getting her nails done and pedicures, simply "credit" yourself for what YOU want against that. Works for meeeeeeeeeeeeee :lmao::lmao:

Look under the steering column there is a cover underneath it ,it rests on tabs, mine was not positioned correctly and caused a rattle.

I checked it out and my annoying rattle seems to be coming from the front cover on the steering wheel, where the Honda logo is. If I tuck my fingers along the underside of the top edge of the cover, and apply pressure upward, the noise almost completely stops. This reminds me of another rattle I read about somewhere on the forum here where the culprit was a loose horn connector behind the steering wheel cover. I'm a little leery of trying to get inside that cover though, since the airbag is right there. However, the rattle is seriously starting to drive me insane. Any tips on how to remove the front of the steering wheel?

Love white Accords. Would've gotten a white one myself, but

Tried to get white, but none were easily available at the time.

(Mine is dark blue - not sure of the actual color name.)

Looks good and Welcome!

I like white! Looks sharp...but even sharper with tint and mudguards!

^ I did get the tint, if you look at my later pics. I thought about the mudguards, but I found some pics of white with mudguards and they stand out too much for my taste, since they're black. And I'm not interested in trying to paint them.

Still loving the car, still averaging 30-33 MPG (90% highway driving). Now if only I could silence that damn rattle...
