View Full Version : Welp im here!!
legionofone 06-08-2007, 01:37 AM Hey guys names Richie... i have owned my car for almost a year now its a 03 Accord Lx K24 5 Speed Sedan shes currently in the process of getting a new tranny and a upgraded clutch... as of now shes pretty stock but soon shes going full drag and boosted... my goal is to show people hondas are more than Civics and Integras...
anyway a little about me... Im 19 im going to college in Wyoming at WyoTech i graduate in 3 months where i go down to a performance shop in Texas called Phase 3 Performance Inc. (if anyone needs work done hit me up in a while) lets see plans for the car... in full drag specs...
2.6L Stroker
Fully Balanced and Lightened Rotating Assembly
Custom Cut Turbo Cams with Stock I(E)-Vtec System modified to 45 Degrees advance
Darton Sleeves
10Lb Flywheel
Unorthodox Pullys(car will be streetable on low boost so im keeping alternator AC and power steering)
K-Pro Modified to work with E-Vtec System
Fully Built Titanium Valve Train
Custom Built 5 Speed Tranny with quartermile gears 1-4 and 5th geared high for gas mileage (haha)
Stage 5.9 drive shafts from The Drive Shaft Shop
Custom Programed Electronic Air Ride Drag Suspension
Custom Side Mount Turbo manifold with equal length runners
custom 4 Inch catback... with drag cutouts
Much more but its little stuff
I know we dont have alot of parts for our cars for performance so alot of this will be custom 1 offs but i might start some sort of small scale production later on...
anyway sorry to bore yall i hope i can help if anyone has problems and hope to learn a whole lot about these cars that i dont know yet :)
alpha 06-08-2007, 01:53 AM Welcome! I've heard great things about WyoTech.
Mods sound great! I'm sure you've learned a lot during the project, so if you'd like to share some of that knowledge in the form of pictures and progress, that would be appreciated :D
VTECaddict 06-08-2007, 02:05 AM a drag sedan! awesome. :)
Foreign_Wide 06-08-2007, 02:34 AM Great specs!!!
This should be really interesting!
I bet the people that seek the highest gas mileage are reaching for the Maalox about now
:lmao:

unfortunately, we're not really mod-heavy here, like your car. you are welcome to stay and contribute on here, even pass along ideas and suggestions if you'd like.

While that is true, we are not isolationists either. I'd be interested to read a worklog, sounds interesting!
Welcome..
stiller fan 06-08-2007, 06:56 PM oh, i agree with you, motorcity....
legionofone 06-08-2007, 08:04 PM Born and Raised in Nacogdoches Texas... lemme go grab some pictures of ze auto!
Wardsweb 06-08-2007, 09:12 PM Welcome to a fellow Texan. Only time I cruise by Texas City is on the way to Galveston.
legionofone 06-09-2007, 01:05 AM my shop is literally 2 mins away from the bay... we got out onto the dike to fish and grab some grub! so fun
where in tex are u from?
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 05:32 AM Another Texan here, I'm living in Austin, but I spend about 2 months of the year in Houston, Summerville, and Galveston as we have a rental property in southwest houston, land in summerville, and a house in crystal beach (a fery (sp?) ride away from galveston).
Do you own your own shop or do you work for another company?
legionofone 06-09-2007, 08:00 AM its my best friends parents shop... they mainly do performance trucks and so on when i get down there we are starting imports and domestic performance cars... sadly since im trained in dealership work if some retard comes around to a performance shop i get to do basic dealership work also... so i get to do everything from oil changes to... 1000 HP drag setups... O_O WOHOOO!!
joerockt 06-09-2007, 12:18 PM welcome aboard....

Why do you seem to always mention this when someone new starts talking about mods? Do you want to scare people away?
Let people decide for themselves if they want to stay or not. Telling them this isnt exactly where they want to be isnt very hospitable.
stiller fan 06-09-2007, 12:21 PM why not mention it??? it helps to know what our forum is about before they start talking about all kinds of stuff..... :)
joerockt 06-09-2007, 12:32 PM why not mention it??? it helps to know what our forum is about before they start talking about all kinds of stuff..... :)
Because its NOT TRUE. There are plenty of people on here that mod their Accord. And the more people we have, the more input. But if you keep scaring them away saying we dont really talk about modding here, how are we going to expand that base?
stiller fan 06-09-2007, 01:15 PM i'm not trying to scare them away, per se....
i am just letting them know that the majority of posters here don't try and rice out their cars....
joerockt 06-09-2007, 01:51 PM i'm not trying to scare them away, per se....
i am just letting them know that the majority of posters here don't try and rice out their cars....
Thats a pretty ignorant statement. So now modding is ricing
I though you were a little smarter then this. Guess I was wrong.
stiller fan 06-09-2007, 02:13 PM no, that's not what i meant.... don't put words into my mouth....
i know that people do like to mod their cars here along with other places. but, you don't hear about people doing tons of stuff to their car for performance.
good example would be the sway bar, adding carputer, mild drop, etc etc etc
bad example would be NOS, turbo, rollcage...
legionofone 06-09-2007, 02:28 PM last time i head the definition of rice it was making ur car look fast and not being fast... my babys staying stock on the outside (mostly) and getting a hell of a engine built that will give guys that drive accords some respect for having the quick cars we do... originality is key... how many accords do u see running below 13s...
my motto... if ya do 1 think for looks do 2 things for performance... great example... me and some freinds were out where the locals drag race... and a cop comes up and starts talking to everyone and walks over to this riced out shopping cart winged civic and goes... u look like ur the fastest car out here... when in reality his car was a stock D15 with a intake...
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 02:32 PM no, that's not what i meant.... don't put words into my mouth....
Josh, you're my online bud and all, but joe didn't put words in your mouth.
the majority of posters here don't try and rice out their cars....
So now modding is ricing
A  is needed here :).
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 02:37 PM some respect for having the quick cars we do...
I hope you mean after it's modded because the i4 does 0-60 in a steady 7.4 seconds. Now the V6, that's another story :naughty: .
Not to put you down but how much of a 'screamer' do you really think you can make that little 4 banger? A front wheel drive 3000+lbs car with 2.4litres of power doesn't sound like it's worth investing into for that purpose. In my head it just doesn't add up. :dunno:
I don't know alot about mechanics, but most of my thoughts come from my own common sense, if you'd like to explain, I'd appreciate it.:yes:
hiddengamer7 06-09-2007, 02:45 PM Not to put you down but how much of a 'screamer' do you really think you can make that little 4 banger? well, if he ends up laying down even half of the claimed 700-900 hp, it will be a very quick car
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 03:00 PM well, if he ends up laying down even half of the claimed 700-900 hp, it will be a very quick car
See I don't get that. A Turbo, Supercharger etc, and a modded 4cylinder = 700-900Hp at the front wheels is insanity. Almost dreaming.
legionofone 06-09-2007, 03:44 PM theres a 700 HP K20A2 already... my plans are way past theres... with boost its all gravy... boost can be regulated threw computers to allow me to launch perfectly then build all the boost i need to create the power to get down the track... 3000 pounds is no where near what im going to weigh... axle to axle weight on this car is 2800 pounds... (thats off a calibrated scale at a the local drag strip) that is full weight with spare and so on... (including god only knows how much weight in useless junk and sound deadening) when done the car will be 2000-2400 max! with a full roll cage i can take out alot of the factory reinforcements
stiller fan 06-09-2007, 03:46 PM i, along with others on here i can imagine, will love to see your progress on your project here...
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 03:52 PM axle to axle weight on this car is 2800 pounds... (thats off a calibrated scale at a the local drag strip)
How do you get that number? Honda thinks different, and I'm pretty sure they haven't made a mistake weighing their own cars.
http://automobiles.honda.com/certified/specifications.asp?ModelName=Accord+Sedan&ModelYear=2003
3053 MT LX I4/ 3113 AT LX I4
Really confused here...
legionofone 06-09-2007, 03:52 PM and trust me im not here just to mod... i need help with all the little bits and pieces of the damn thing to... and i can definitely help with bigger issues and definitely engine problems...
that number is me setting my car on a scale... at a drag strip that certifies cars to run under 9 seconds...
and the factory specs on our car says that it runs a 16.23
Honda Accord sedan LX-G - I4 2.4L (160 hp) 5M + ABS 7.95 16.23 88.70
but amazingly my car ran mid to upper 15s stock...
curb weight is also fully wet... EVERY fluid toped off... so it would probably be different because i weighted (and will race) with a nearly empty tank
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 03:57 PM How do you have LX-G? I thought you lived in the states...
legionofone 06-09-2007, 04:09 PM thats just the spec for a LX with 5 speed I-4 not exactly my model... but its A model with my setup basicly
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 04:15 PM Sorry to keep asking questions, just curious about your car (Love Hondas and all!). But still, why is the weight difference from Hondas reading, and your reading so vast?
legionofone 06-09-2007, 05:10 PM the accords... are EXTREAMLY underated and over rated in all aspects that control there performance... they are underated in HP to keep insurance down... the real performance on a accord is in the 170-180 range (the extra displacement adds alot of power over the k20s that ACUTUALY are 160ish) the weight is probably over rated to say that the car is even slower than before... honda is like scottie on the enterprise... they lie about stuff... then when they do it better then what they say... they look like miracle workers! :-P
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 05:49 PM I know the K24 in the Accord has been proven to produce more than it's rating, but I haven't seen anything more than 168 on someones stock dyno.
I highly doubt honda is overrating their cars weight; for insurance or any other matter. So in that respect, I don't believe what your saying is true.
legionofone 06-09-2007, 05:53 PM believe what u want... its not changing the slip of paper i got a year ago when i went to the scales that curb weight could be with alot of options to... (i dont know everything offered on my car) but i mean 6 disk maby... automatic seats maby a driver... definately would have a spare and a jack with a full tank of gas and toped of fluids everywhere... stock airbox and resonator that arent in my car anymore... heavy stock wheels that arent on my car anymore... maby sunroof ... whatever options came on it i bet they weighed a loaded out one not a base model one...
and 168 on a dyno is insanity for our cars... that means we would be pushing 200 stock... also between 2 cars off the assembly line can have drastically different HP numbers... 10-15 HP difference... i will just say fastest car to date that i have beaten (in my class i have raced a bunch of old car borated engines and won and so on) is a 325i 5 speed and that car had about 200 HP (180 stock with intake headers and a exhaust i believe)
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 05:58 PM Nope, that weight was model and trim specific.
legionofone 06-09-2007, 06:10 PM it was just LX with a manual nothing else... it was not option specific
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 06:28 PM it was just LX with a manual nothing else... it was not option specific
I don't know why someone who owns an Accord wouldn't know this. But there are no options on an LX, only accessories. Honda doesn't do option packages.
stiller fan 06-09-2007, 06:30 PM so, legion,
i have been wondering about this since you joined.... is that REALLY YOUR CAR??? :stupid:
i smell a rat.... :paranoid: :furious:
andysinnh 06-09-2007, 06:31 PM pshh when my babys off the race gas shes going to be sippin on 87 with low compression and mild boost with a desent 5th gear (my final drive is going to be stupid high though) i should get ehhh 20-30ish... u gotz to love that with Kpro u can have ur laptop right there and u can have premade fuel maps vtec points and so on... and just upload the program change and bam... ur ready to take ur 700-900 HP drag car on the highway...
After reading all of the recent replies in this thread, and then going back to this early reply, I'll be most interested to see if THIS ends up being true. Acutal HP numbers and actual MPG's with 87 octane will show the reality of things here.........
legionofone 06-09-2007, 06:32 PM *Shoots self* accessories and options whatever... its a item that is not required for said car to be classified as said trim package... either way im saying that my LX is BONE BASE no options/accessories to be had... its got AC a stereo power steering and electric windows and locks thats it...
legionofone 06-09-2007, 06:33 PM why do u ask if its my car? who's car would it be?

Wow the LX's really have gone downhill then!
My 11yr old LX has P/S, P/W, P/B, P/L, P/M, Cruise Control, 110w Stereo, Dual Airbags, 3-point locking safety belts.... I could go on, but your LX is not bare bones :lmao: unless they changed overnight.
Oh, and this is not me being rude, this is me questioning the validity of what you're saying and waiting for you to start being specific. This is the internet, if you have soemthing to say, you have to say it thoroughly so we actually know what you're talking about.

legionofone 06-09-2007, 07:07 PM think K24 with an intake!
Accordlover 06-09-2007, 07:09 PM Very well then, lets see some modding go down then. I really think the final product should be rather interesting to see.

noone's being negative here. all we asked for is more pics.... how is that coming off as being negative? plus i don't see how we are attacking you either, for that matter.
noone loves their car? that ain't right at all. i have owned my car since she was 90k miles old, and if you look at my sig, you'll see how many miles she has now. you talk to anyone on here, some are more in love with their cars than others. that doesn't make them bad owners. don't judge.
