Already have a thread discussing it here: http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=11690

Although that thread should be moved to this forum.

looks likes BMW's interior, especially the central screen in the dash, that is exactly like the BMW 525 that my friend has.

it would grow on me:thmsup:

the center screen isn't the bad thing abut the car. in fact, i think that i would like having the center screen, honestly....

it's the radio / HVAC controls that are ugly, along with the steering wheel as well....

i do see that they did bring over the oversized volume knob from the previous generation tho, which could be a good thing. :)

I agree I like the screen, and the control and knobs are ugly as sin. what gives witht eh boxy design of that interface, looks like the civic's:dunno:

Yeah I think it looks very Civic-ish too.

I think it all looks just okay and I am not a fan of how the controls jut out a bit instead of being flush with the dash. I'll make a final decision when I sit in one, though.

Oh and the steering wheel is sort of similar to the new Altima's...I wonder if Honda will have the same wheel in both the coupe and the sedan also.

Obviously it's going to look something like a Civic, I mean it's the newest Sedan in the Honda Lineup, so the car is going to look like other new Hondas. This kind of dash look is also on new Odysseys as well.

The Dash reminds me of a Mazda 6, I really don't think it's half as bad when you're behind the drivers seat. The above comments are like the same things that people said about the Civic "It's too busy" "There are too many buttons" etc. and look at it now, almost everyone I know who has driven one loves the feel of the ****pit, and says all the controls are right there, just like any Honda.

LOL, you can't say c0ckpit :lmao:

I still say I don't care for the way that dash looks in the picture, but I'll wait to see it in person. I am mighty curious about the knob that looks like the nav control stick...in a car that has no nav.

Obviously, cause the 7th gen accords interface and interior was something like the current civics at the time when they came out new back in 2003. Too bad they didnt even look remotely similiar, they are 2 different model lines and should look different.

Thats the problem, Honda and many other companies are losing creativity in their designs, accords and civics, while they can share some features, they should not share a lot especially exterior and interior styling.

Thats why I paid mucho dinero for an accord because it looks nothing like a civic. past or current.

I think that central smaller knob handles radio/track tuning...just guessin since the one below is for pwr/volume.

Here are some more interior shots, one of the coupe's driver door and the interior of the sedan LX again. All I can say about the sedan's interior is it looks pretty cheap to me. :(

It is an LX, though, so maybe the EX will be *slightly* better.

i'm hating it even moreso now than before..... :puke:

that door shot is damned ugly.... :thumbsdow

as for the interior shot, i still think that it's not what the accord should look like on the inside....

While the interior certainly isn't unsightful or anything, it's not much of an improvement (IMO) in terms of overall design and layout. I still prefer my center stack to the new design. Seems as Honda really outdid themselves with the 7th gen interior.

...have to agree with you, I'm not that enamored with the exterior shots of the '08 Accord, and now these interior shots really convince me that there is no reason whatsoever to give up my 7th gen Accord. It's better looking on the outside and on the inside, it is one of the best laid out and well designed interiors on the road today. Sometimes I think they don't know what to do after designing something so successful, as anything you do is judged by that benchmark. Why bother copying a bimmer for the new car when what you had was superior?

The 7th gen interior is tops for me, with that said, these shots help me like the interior a bit more than the earlier shots.

Seems the symmetry was somewhat retained due in part to the triangular placement of the ac controls and the hu control.

Although there seemed to be a ridiculous amount of buttons from afar, up close the placement seems to make sense. The recessed screen is a nice addition.

Again, my 7th gen center stack is my fav aesthetic feature of my car, and also very functional.

I believe that the 8th gen will grow on the public just like the 7th gen did.

I don't like it.

Sorry, but copying BMW makes it look cheap...

i do like the look of the shifter.... :D

anywho, we all know they can't redo the 7th gen interior on the 8th gen. it just won't happen because then people would complain and whine about it looking exactly the same as the 7th gen.

and as always, we all hate change just as much as not changing! :lmao:

it will grow on everyone just the same as the 7th gen did (which looking back, the 7th gen created the same uproar pre-release & for awhile after being released!)

i think they like the controversary that surrounds the cars pre-release!

Um, yeah, not seeing a real noticeable difference between the door panel and my door panel. Other than the arm rest where the controls are looks to be more sloped and a bit lower. I wouldn't like that too much, since the door arm rest is at the perfect height for me to rest my elbow while my hand is on the steering wheel in my 7th gen. (Sadly it's not nearly as comfortable now cuz that piece is deformed and I need to save up money to have it replaced. What a difference a mm makes!)

Even I have to admit that the center stack and the steering wheel looks like it came out of the new Civic.

If a car company is not to infuse a certain styling characteristic among all their cars, how are they ever going to set a brand image? It's not just cars, it's clothes, household products, everything! Every consumer good with more than one product by the same manufacture or company has something that catches the eye so that the customer can quickly identify that particular brand.

I never said which Civic related to which accord, but if you take a good look at the Dash of an 98-02 Accord and The 01-05 Civic Dash you'll see that it was VERY Accord reminiscent. See below.

Just look at the center stack. Then the A/C vents in the Civic suggest an 03-07 Accord; the chrome accents on the vent knobs, then the dash has the overall same shape on top as a 7th gen. There are design cues everywhere!

I think it's really interesting to notice all that stuff. The most noticeable model to model appearance similarities were on 80's Hondas in my opinion.

The way the interiors have similarities are exactly what makes a Honda Accord owner feel like their in another Honda product when they jump into an Accord. There's a connection, and it's rather satisfying, it's the feeling of comfort!

i still say it's ugly..... :puke:

that being said, maybe it'll take me a while, like the 7th gen exterior and interior, to warm up to it.... :dunno:
