I have a 98 Accord EX with about 125K. When I shift from neutral to either reverse, drive, or park, the rpms drop and the car shudders. It does not stall out and eventually the rpms go back up to normal. I also noticed that the check engine light has come on.
Any ideas?

Take the car to Autozone, have them read the code for free, then post the code on here.

I had the same thing happen and I took it to Autozone. The scan tool said it was running lean which could be alot of different things. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the fuel pressure regulator. It cost less than $100. There was a tsb on this condition.

Autozone found two error codes. P1166 and P1167. And also gave a list of possible causes for the problem. It is a lengthly list but failed fuel injectors comes up most often. However, also on the list for P1166 is the 'EVAP purge solenoid stuck open.' In case it was just the fuel injectors i proceeded to buy a bottle of cleaner and used that yesterday. Do you recommend I take it to the dealer right away?

Looked up the specific codes for Honda, and ...

P1166 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System Electrical
P1167 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System

The oxygen sensor needs to be replaced.

It should be located on the exhaust manifold and it just screws in.

Sensor costs around $100. Labor shouldn't be too much, but it is a pretty easy DIY job. I unplugged the connector. I had to heat up the threads with a torch, and it unscrewed without much effort with an O2 sensor socket. It wouldn't come out unless I heated it up a bit.

Just screwed in the new one and made sure there was some anti-seize on threads.

Thanks for all of your help. I will post my final outcome after we replace the O2.
Have a great weekend.
