I just watched the news and the weather Guru said 50 of the last 70 days have been below normal temp.....
Mid August 75 deg highs and 50 deg lows brrrrrrr.??

I was just wondering if any other parts of the country are experiencing this type of temps.????

yup I1, but your climate isn't too far off from mine! but i'm not complaining. i hate the hot, humid, muggy, nasty days, so this weather is great! (well except for the misting rain this morning.... either rain or don't!!! make up your mind already! )

Last week we had a record LOW high of just under 80! Then this week we hovered just below 100 (we hit it one day). Now we're back in the 80's. Great for yard work, but not normal! We're usually sitting in the 90's-105 in August. So yeah, we're cooler than we should be. We've been saying it's Oregon weather!

The worse part is that the hottest days seem to be hitting on Wed. & Thur. then cools for the weekend! I've had lots more pool time than my prince!:) He's whined a bit......

This weekend being cooler isn't so bad, he's going to actually detail MY car!!!!

It's 63 deg at 11am
They said a high of 69 deg .. our normal high should be 85..

It dropped to 49 deg last night...brrrrrr...

We set a record low here in H'ville, AL. It was 51° I believe. At 12:50pm it's 71°. Just a few weeks ago, we were hotter at night than we are in the daytime. I think we have just skipped Aug-Sep & moved straight into October.

The cool front extended all the way down into the Gulf of Mexico. I'm east of New Orleans and this morning was greeted with 61 degree weather, what a great day this was. Tonight it's supposed to get into the high 50's.

This front also drove both Hurricanes away from us and towards Florida and up the East coast by tomorrow. Now that's good timing from our viewpoint. Good luck Floridians.

Yesterday was like today is supposed to be....barely 80. Then we're supposed to be up in the 100's for the work week! My prince will be whining! I'll be in the pool... He'll join me when he gets home. I'll be BBQing the dinners & probably just having salads with whatever gets cooked. Then we'll be driving down I5 on Thursday where it will be nearly 110 in the afternoon. Luckily we usually are in the LA basin before the heat of the day & it'll be 90's there. Anaheim's nights are like here temp-wise, but a bit damper. Nights will probably be in the high 50's. Every once in a while....roughly 2 weeks out of the Summer....we have warm nights in the 70's.

Our house isn't really air conditioned. We do have a couple of wall/window units that work well. We just don't hardly use them. Instead we go out back & play in that oval puddle. We also share it with the dogs & often invite the kids over.:D

That sounds like ideal weather over there on the left coast. Shortly, we'll be back to our 110 heat index and it stays at 90 degrees until 9PM. Lucky you.

The benefits of the delta! Those breezes come in nightly & cool things down. Draw back is it's ALWAYS breezy! Blowing from the east when it's hot, blowing from the west when cool. North means burrrrr.....

I'll believe it's going to be in the 100's when I see it. We haven't had a Summer this year! In April we had a week or so of hot stuff, but not much this Summer. It's been very odd!

I know that humid stuff is supposed to feel hotter, but when we've visited in it, we handled it pretty well. Our biggest complaint was how cold everyone turned the A/C down to. You could get frost bit indoors!!

I know you've been to Florida recently, but don't think that humidity even comes close to here. We're in a bowl with most of N.O. below sea level and surrounded by the Gulf, the River, the marshes and Lake Ponchatrain. Very little breeze during the summers.

Cold AC is survival equipment in these parts.:)

Our first FL trip was also in July....that time we had 110 heat index. This time it was between 98-102. We handle it pretty well. He handled an AZ June trip when it was 116 & raining! Now that was way too much for me!!

It's warmed up a bit here today. It's supposed to be in the 90's all week....they changed their minds from the 100's they predicted earlier.

I think we'll probably have our Summer in Sept. Then I'll be sittin' here with it in the 100's outside. Running out & jumping in the pool, then coming in to get stuff done, then going back out.....

according2me, it's ashame your delta doesn't work like ours! Here it funnels the sea breeze inland, sometimes up to 50 miles! Wind is just a way of life! We don't get as much fog as we used to....my theory is it's from all the buildings. The ground doesn't cool as much as in the past when there was more open space. I honestly don't miss it though! I don't mind the fog as long as I can just stay home. I've got really rusty about driving in it! (was that a pun?)

fog. argh. it's been creating traffic problems all summer long here!! not sure why this summer has been so foggy! it's always just taking it's place when i'm leaving for work! :bawling:

what amazes me is with how much inclement weather we get in western pa (snow, ice, heavy thunderstorms. fog, you name it, we have atleast one of it about 300 days of the year!), you'd think people would know how to drive in anything by now! yet they don't!

As Benji has mentioned, we have "micro climates" here. The same time we're sitting in the 90's, he's over on the coast in the 60's. In the Winter he'll still be in the 60's & we'll be having highs in the 40's & 50's. We're only about 45 miles apart. But there's a bay, & 2 sets of hills between us.

OK, I came home & now I'm freezing! We're not even supposed to break 80 today! What's up with this weather??? We didn't get as hot as they said last week, it was only in the 80's at Disneyland in August, & now I need to wear socks! The fireplace in the bedroom kicked on this morning!

summer has come back with a vengence here. it's so muggy.

the temp isn't too bad-it's only 80, but combine that with a 74% humidity and 71 degree dewpoint, and it's downright nasty out there today! it's like trying to breathe in pee soup!

Ugh it's so hot...I can't even sleep! That drive was cool though, 130 miles of random nothingness. First time ever I found a road in the USA that's 2 ways but only wide enough for one car lol.

We're supposed to hovering just under 100 again today! Yipee!

Sorry Benji..... I think your fog will be back tomorrow....

Today is another "spare the air" day.... & a high fire danger with humidity in the low 20's.

if only the humidity was in the 20's here.... it was so yucky overnight that since we had the ac set at 66 and the outside temp didn't get below 74, the outside of the windows on our house were completely fogged up! :blah:

i just took a pic of some storm clouds rolling in (hopefully that means a cool down is on the way...)

granted, this is New England and all weather predictions are wild assed guesses beyond 48 hours.

We're back in a "cooling trend".....back in the 90's. On Saturday it was 99 inside!! We were outside & boy was it yucky in here when we came in!!

We actually turned on the 2 wall units to get it cooled down enough to sleep. They work pretty fast. We close the glass paneled pocket door to cut off the unused living room when heating or cooling. We also close off the extra bedrooms. No point in making them comfy, right?;)

I am thankful to not always have the high humidity that some of you all do....but nearly 100 indoors is hot no matter what! Every room has large ceiling fans.....all on high. Yesterday & today I remembered to close the glass & open the awning! That's how it got so hot in here the other day.... I forgot! There's a reason we have those things on the SW side.......

For the past week or so our lows have been in the mid 60's....warm for us. The highs have been just under & just over 100. This is how August is supposed to be. Normally we'd have nearly the whole month of 100+.

And then it snowed in Colorado....whatsup with that?????

"the day after tomorrow"......????? global warming?

Has anybody had "normal" Summer weather this year??

Same here.....I love rain, & I wouldn't mind drivng in it, if no one else was on the road! There's just so many people that don't have a clue HOW to drive in it. Then they go slipping & sliding into each other.... & into the ones that DO know how.....

Of course, there's always the ones like my prince that used to enjoy the slipping. He scared an "old" lady when we were dating....he was rushing from my house to work, slid on purpose & did a complete 360 & ended exactly where he'd planned. Unforunately, the car in front of him didn't see the humor in it. He loved spinning around in his 442. The front wheel drives just don't play the same.....

you'd think with pittsburgh's constant mixed bag of weather that people here wouldn't even know the difference between sun, rain, ice, and snow.... but put a couple of droplets of water on the road and every forgets how to drive!! yet i swear we have some form of precip about 5 out 7 days of the week!

ok maybe that's a slight exaggeration! we've had sun every day since frances left and aren't predicted to have any more rain until thursday, so that's about a week lapse there. but we had some nice dense fog this morning, which is pretty typical this time of the year. if it's not raining, then we probably have fog. gotta love how people drive in that too! i know you guys are familiar with fog! :D
