Today, with the mild weather, we decided it's time for another round of Zaino. Since I'd done her interior a couple of days ago this was outside only. The first detail since her ding was repaired. Where that was has a tiny bit of scratch now. So if I keep her shiny enough no one will notice, right? I'll just blind 'em!

 To Prince Job well done!! Nice wet shine....

 To you also Princess! I'm quite sure the interior looks quite nice also!!!

? What products are you using(on the paint)? Z2 and Z5 with ZFX ????:dunno:

Have you tried topping with a carnuba ?

Thanks!!

He likes the having the Z5 on top. It has a glossier shine than Z2. That one's for building it up. We don't use any wax of any kind. We'd tried carnuba on the '02, the '86 & '87. We were disappointed in the way it lasts. The shine was OK, but needed to be redone more often. We'd used Rain Dance paste for years with lots of success. Now we only use it on the boat. Out of the waxes over the years we'd been the happiest with Rain Dance paste. Most of the lines of Macguires are a great shine, but harder to work with. Although we don't mind detailing, we don't always have a bunch of time. Too many irons.....;)

I'm too libral with stuff & he doesn't let me do the applying. I get to do the removing though!:)

We're very happy with the way Zaino works. The ZFX is the hardner that you mix with the Z2 or Z5. Then after you've applied that & removed the residue. You use the Z6 spray. Which can also be used after washing to enhance the shine between actual treatments. I have my own bottle of THAT.....:D

Thanks.....

I've NEVER seen a body style that holds more water! Every time you THINK she's dry another dribble will show up!!! Even after opening the trunk & doors to wipe down the jambs! It drives me nuts! If not for this I think the detailing would take half the time!!!!

i feel your pain! i'll wash, dry, dry out all the door jambs and everything as well, close it all up and try to catch any reappearing dribbles. i'll think i finally got them all, then the next morning low and behold, there will be a couple of dried up dribbles!!

We were laughing about that yesterday....we need to wash, dry, dry, dry, wait a day, then get off the dribble spots, then detail!:D I even pop the gas door & dry it all out. I dry around the jamb on the doors & the car. Same with the trunk. I'll use paper towels on the underside of the bumpers...... still more dribbles.......

the mirrors and the trunk seem to hide it really well somewhere!!! i think the water sits there and then comes out to play as soon as i close the garage door! then it just sits back and laughs!

everyone laughs at me for opening the doors, the gas door, the trunk, and the hood to finish the drying process off every single time i wash the car! i didn't think it was that weird! :D

i just run my car down the street and back once to remove some of the excess water droplets and to minimize drying time, but it still does take a long time to dry it thoroughly with my chamois. in fact i think it takes me longer to dry than to wash the darn thing! :blah:

i also have to get into the doorjambs and the underside rim of the trunk or else its just unfinished. then after im done drying i go over any missed waterspots or late dribbles with meguiar's quick detailer. ok ok...i go over the whole car with it!! :D unless of course its wax time.

gotta love detailing a dark colored car!

let's see in the 2.5 months i've had mine, i've washed it countless times and detailed it, umm, too many times to keep track. aside from my water spots, i love cleaning it and seeing the results! the bad thing is, when it's clean and shiny, that's when you see the spots. when it's dirty, you can't see them thru the dirt!

there was a time when i'd drive it around a little after washing and the initial drying to get rid of some of the water in the hard to find areas on my civics, but i qiuckly found out that too much dirt would accumulate on the car in the process and i'd feel like i had to start all over again!

for once, my car is dirty 2 days in a row. i've been so tired the last couple of nights! tonight she is getting a long bath and another coat of sg regardless of how tired i am! :D

I have used the little shop-vac when doing the inside to get some of the water up in the jambs. So far, I haven't used a dryer or blower on it though.....as temping as it is!

Dark colors are ever so much fun to wash & dry..... That's when I miss the silver one. She was much less picky! When we bought that one she was all covered with orange dots! We gently clayed them off before her first coat of any protectant. The dealer had no idea what it was. I was just thankful they all came off with some effort.

Anysia, I hope you find the cure for the spots you're finding. It's probably not related, but when we were east last month the water or rain managed to tarnish 2 gold bracelets & a silver toe ring! I'd never seen gold do that before! Well, I think the term used was "oxidized". All I know is that it turned all funky colored. Granted they're only 12k, but they'd never done that at home! So maybe there is something in the water or rain there causing the issue! (they're all better now)
