well today I lost my key.My question is can the key be deactived so it wont work with the car. can it be done

yes, goto the dealer and tell them to delete the lost key from the immobilizer memory. not sure how much they would charge for this though.

How is that going to work though? The other 2 keys to the car use the same immobilizer programming. That means he'd have to not only have a dealer charge out the rear to deactivate that key, but reprogram the other 2 right? Dealers charge a pretty penny for this to be done.

If you're looking for a dealer and don't mind a small trip, My mom is currently on a road-trip and had her oil changed at Honda of Hollywood (On santa monica blvd. in bev hills) - She liked their service department very much, and said someone was always glad to help her.

maybe you can ask around for a lock store, i got my key programmed at my friends store, took less then 5 min to do so...would be a lot cheaper than the dealer's. even when the key is deactivated they can still enter your car with that key and the security system won't be set off so do becareful

Ever consider a good locksmith? They might be cheaper than a dealer.

Where did you lose your key? Was it just the car key ,if so what are the chances someone finding it and knowing what car it came from?

i doubt someone found you key that knows you, plus if they did know you then they would know you switched parking spots.

I check lost & found nobody turn in anything.And the mall has two level of parkin I use to park on level b now I park in level A. plus there are like 4 or 5silver accord that I seen plus the ones that comin.

i suggest you re-program the keyless remote right now. the instructions are on here, just search for it. when you re-program the keyless remotes, all remotes must be reprogrammed at the same time. all old ones are deleted from memory automatically.

this way the person that has the key cannot walk around pressing unlock and find your car.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. As for replacing the lost one... sounds like a TL switch-blade conversion is in order.

I dont think you have to worry about it! How many people find a key at the mall and then go around trying every car (Honda)till they find the one that opens? Maybe if you lost it in front of your house then you would have to worry but at a mall I think you will be fine!

Keep going back to the lost and found maybe someone will drop it off!

no im using the spare and I have the valet key so I had A total of 3.
