..when you had no intention of doing it.
I've always had a truck for moving toys around and the occasional odd job but i've also gotten annoyed with the cost of fuel. A couple months ago i was shuffling through the classifieds looking for a bike when i figured i'd daydream and check on some used cars. I spotted an add for a 99 v6 coupe someone was nearly giving away. Being a tightwad, i figured i had to see this thing although i dont 'need' it. Quoted to be in fair condition with 156k and a salvage title, the price made me grab the cell. I met with the dood, took it for a spin and was digging it. got home and punched some numbers after knowing what it 'needed' and called my insurance. well i lost sleep thinking "this is my chance and someone else is going to get this deal" and phoned him up the next morning to make an offer..

So far i've fixed several quirks and will continue trying to pimp it back to perfection after a life of neglect. right now i have a thread going regarding what seems to be a fuel injector problem which i'll update as i learn more. thanks for everyone's experience and advice thus far and all the browsing entertainment. i have always liked 6th gen coupes and i'm happy to finally have my own!

When im not stripping threads, i like mountain biking, watersports, snowmobiles, and anything else outside. i have a great work schedule as a feeder pilot and fly skydivers every other weekend giving me plenty of free time to get in some of the above.

My favorite wagon I saw was a 77-78 caprice with spray painting on the side that said "Puff the tragic wagon"

Ohhh.... that just made my day lol. She was a head turner- what did we have tied to the roof the time you saw her?

Geesh - can't remember - the only memorable thing was just the size of the beast - you don't see many of those around, and it brought back memories of the 68 Bonneville wagon I learned to drive on back in the early 70's. I think I scared the cr*p out of countless mailboxes and trash cans as I learned to park and drive that puppy. So any time I see something that wide and that big in the back, I take notice. So, whatever might have been tied to the roof in my viewing, it wasn't memorable.....

I have been to the DWC campus a few times, however, as that was the place that hosted middle school day-long seminars that kids and parents attended from Merrimack - so I've probably sat a bunch in the rooms you used when you took classes there.

Welcome to DA and congrats on the Honda!

Love the old Grand Marquis wagon! :lmao: Mom bought an 89 sedan slightly used in 91 and drove it all the way up until she traded it in for her current '06 CRV. It was still running like new. Had I not just been tired of it (I was in the 3rd grade when she bought it!) I would've probably kept it for myself. It was a fantastic highway car...

Never imagined the donut limo would get so much attention on DA! the police may have been mildly amused but they still had a job to do and, being unregistered/uninspected and such, the wagon had to go away- quickly! had i not spent so much time car-sledding with my buddies i might have been able to afford to skip the day's classes and trailer up to my parents in maine. man i miss that monster, maybe someday a roadworthy 2nd gen dnL will again lurk dangerously in a snow covered college parking lot. at the time i was under pressure to get rid of it even though i had a place to park it a while. i was just scared, the only thing that saved my record was that, even though it was unofficially mine, a bunch of us drove it and they never caught anyone in the act. plus I agreed to fix the trenches we made in the overflow parking lot (she still begged for a chance to be large and in charge after it all melted)
