I'm thinking about getting a bluetooth setup installed this weekend. I've looked at a few....Parrott, etc.

The guy at Al & Ed's Autosound recommends a Visualogic (who does headrest screens) CIGBLUE.

Anyone heard of this? Used it? Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

I vote for the Parrot kits. I've got a CK3100 unit in both the wife's Freestyle and my Pilot, and they're great. And if you buy that unit from www.parrotkits.com , you can also buy one of their wiring harnesses that are made specifically for Hondas as well as a lot of other makes. Made the install very clean and quick (especially important for DIY installs). The total parts cost was around $200 for the kit and the harness, install took about 30 mins.

I just got this one installed today. Ran me $500 installed. I think I could have gotten a better deal by negotiating the labor down a bit, but screwit.

The button looks fairly clean and it works perfectly with my LG phone from verizon. The mic was placed on my windsheild and everyone I called told me they can hear me perfectly.

Oh btw....Caveat Emptor on the Cig Blue system.....the audio only comes out of the driver's side speaker (as in, it only uses one speaker) on the accords for some strange reason. The installer told me "it is what it is" for the accords. I was kind of dissappointed, as I am sure if I had gone with the Parrot, it would have had both speakers working. The thing I liked about the Cig Blue is that it looks stock.....like I had bought the car with the bluetooth already installed. I hate having the little toys and gizmos on the dash....to me, they look out of place.

The other minor thing I don't like....is that while the button looks cool, it has a "chintzy" feel to it. I was expecting more of a spring-based button that felt like you were doing big things when you pushed it. I'm weird like that.

I can post some pics if you want to see what it looks like.

I had a Parrot CK3100 as well. It worked really well. I'm going to put it back when I take the Alpine monitor out. The Alpine monitor has built it bluetooth and works well, but I'm going to take it out and put it in my 4Runner. That way, I'll have Navi and bluetooth in there as well.

The reason I went with the Parrot kit is because you can view your phonebook with the screen. I liked that feature the most. If that isn't important to you, then I would recommend something like the CIGBLUE because it can be integrated to look like a factory option.

Mr. Snrub, when I reinstall the Parrot kit, I'm only going to use the drivers side speaker. I initially had it for both the front speakers, but the phone takes priority, so if I was using navi at the time, I wouldn't hear the voice prompt. Installing it only on the drivers side would allow me to hear the phone call and navi voice at the same time.

Now that your describing it, I'm sure that everyone would appreciate some pics.

I will take some pics and upload them by this weekend.

I have already noticed one problem.....I had my dad try to call me, and for some reason my LG verizon phone rang (and the stereo muted and I heard a ring in the speakers) and when I pushed the button to answer the call.....it hung up on him. He tried to call me twice and no luck.

I will mess around with it after work tomorrow to see if it is the system or my phone that has the issue.

p.s. is there an FTP for driveaccord.net that I can use to up the pictures to? I dont want to host them on my website as I need all the bandwith I can get for my business.

thanks

I don't see what the problem is. Oh, wait. You mean you actually wanted to talk to your dad? :naughty: :lmao:
