I just got a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4 V rated that from Tire Rack that my local Honda dealer put on. They used a total of 8 weights and new valve stems. If I use the cruise on a fairly flat road, going about 62 mph, there's this faint "whooon, whooon, whooon" sound. If I have the radio on at a volume of 5 or louder, you can't hear the sound. If I'm going 70+ on the interstate, no sound. There's also no sound when you're accelerating.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

You could return them to the tire rack, but you are out some labor costs. Is it just one wheel making the noise?

In my opinion the tires need some break in time. Some extremists get into tire shaving, much like turning the wheel tire combo on a lathe, to make them "true," but that is generally for racing.

Yeah new tires will most likely be noisy. In 500km or so they should be better.

But I'm not sure why they're only noisy at 65mph? No vibrations? Because if it's speed-related it could be balance.

I think that sometimes there is a "pattern" on the tread that starts a resonance that may show up at a specific speed. Maybe once that wears down and evens out it might go away

I was leaning toward a balancing but at 30-35 mph it's quiet. It sounds like it's coming from all of the tires so I'm going to wait and see how the tires are at 500 miles later.

Thanks for the help.

Did you by any chance do any brake work at the same time?

The Brake fluid was replaced and they did measure the pads but the pads and the rotors are the same.

Maybe it won't happen, but sometimes fresh brake fluid bypasses a seal somewhere along the line. If you have over 100K, think about a pre-emptive replacement of the master cylinder, or it's seals
