I've got a auto 99 Accord v6 coupe with 60k that's been fine for me since I bought it used about a year ago. Recently, I've noticed a clunking noise when the car slows down to low speeds like less than 10mph. It sounds like it might be the transmission, because when I come to a complete stop and shift into park, I hear a similar clunk. But then again, it goes clunk clunk as I am slowing down, even if I already shifted, so it might not be the tranny. I also got an inspection in April/may and I asked them to look at the brakes because they squeak a lot, but they said the brakes are fine and not even halfway done yet.

This noise has been off and on for a month or two, but today it's been really obvious. I'm going to drive it around again, and hope that my car doesn't fall apart. Anyone else have the same problem?

Have you been keeping up with atf changes? Hopefully you have been using Honda fluid.

When it was inspected back in april, I'm pretty sure all the fluids were changed. It was inspected at a honda dealer, so I trust they used the honda atf.

I would check the tranny and engine mounts.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Trust & dealer should not be used in the same sentence. They are pretty much mutually exclusive. :paranoid:

Maybe the loud clanking noise is being caused by the cars anchor and chain being deployed from the rear of your car. :naughty:  :lmao:
